BRISTOL 13/06 - ITAL TEK / CHIMPO - SET TIMES UP!!

Post by back to bassics » Thu May 07, 2009 8:05 pm

Ok, so here we go - Back to Bassics returns for a 2nd round - bringing that heavywieght bass to you all - including extra bass from the Turbulence Sound System!

Line up so far:

Main Room - Dubstep / Techno:

iTAL tEK (Planet Mu)

Ital Tek stalks the ground where electronica and dubstep meet, with a ponderous, melodic album with a few tricks up it's sleeve. He often uses the bass, which is often used as an instrument of brutality in dubstep as a melodic instrument, adding an easy and open emotional element to his tracks. He also employs lots of tricky rhythmic editing, which give the tracks and intense energy that contrasts well with the more delicate elements. A great crossover point between dubstep and electronica.

Chimpo (Black Acre / Contagious)
Big grimey beat maker from Manchester, Chimpo, brings his filth down to Bristol for what promises to be an intense inauguratory set down at The Croft. Come onnnn... feed the chimp!

Threnody (Rottun / Combat Records / Back to Bassics)
UK Trends rep and Rottun Records favourite, Threnody, made such an impact on his first Back to Bassics appearance, that we decided to give him residency down here in Bristol. Those of you that caught his set last time will know that this is one DJ / producer whose appearances you just CANNOT sleep on. Expect the dirtiest dubstep / techno on the scene.
For those of you not in the know - just check this out! - http://www.myspace.com/uktrendsthrenody

Superisk (Sureskank / Spillz)
Enough said really - extremely talented selector that smashes it time in, time out!

KOAN Sound (Trill Bass / Abducted Dub)
The most underrated producers on the scene at the moment...? Possibly!
KOAN Sounds production style is akin to the likes of Excision, Innasekt, Goldfinger and Spor all rolled into one - but with all the vibes and bouncyness of Rusko, Sukh Knight and Benga. Bristol - if you don't know KOAN Sound - be sure to get familiar! Not to be missed - just hold onto your sphincters!

Hosted by Rogue Star for the duration!!!

Front Room - Hip Hop / Dub / Drum and Bass:

Project 13 Team - Eva Lazarus / Mista Switch / A-Kid / Chalk MC

Perhaps the finest underground hip-hop crews Bristol has to offer at the minute. Providing free's throughout the evening back by P13's own beats. Never a bad show!

Bassic DJ's (N/A and Rupcha) (2 hour Drum and Bass set)
Back to Bassics O.G's N/A and Rupcha for a monster Drum and Bass set, ranging from liquid to jump up to the down right nastiest beats and basslines the genre has to offer.

Extra bass has been ordered in too, just for added rattle!!!

Event takes place on Saturday 13th June @ The Croft, Stokes Croft, Bristol.
Tickets £5 advance, £6 on the door - available from Bristol Ticket Shop @ http://www.bristolticketshop.co.uk / 0117 929 9008
Door 10:00pm - 04:00am / 18+

Added bass is in the front room for Project 13 and Bassic DJ's.

The sound system in there isn't up to much so we decided to beef it up a tad! 8)
