Multiple output options? (Fruity)

Post by serox » Tue May 12, 2009 12:21 pm

edit** Anyone know how to use multiple outputs in FL?

Orig query: Anyone know how to use the output options at the top of the VST? each drum has an output option. When you right click you get a list of outputs 1 to 10. I was hoping I could route each drum sound from the one VST to its own FX channel instead of having a new VST for each drum like I am right now.

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

works fine in cubase, just right click each output and you can select, or right click 'stereo output' and you can choose from preset output configs.

Not sure about fl tbh.

Greta beatbox, bought that & ABL last year. use it on everything.

I do get the list come up with output options. I have tried setting it to a few random outputs but I cannot see where they go or how I can control where they go.

Dunno then mate sorry. What happens when you select a dif output, silence?

In cubase you just get 13 mixer channels, 1 stereo +12 mono individual outs .

Porb due to how fruity assigns multiple outs.

no, silence would be one thing but I get no difference at all on any of the outputs!

I am guessing I need to enable or do something else. Have read the manual but I still dont get it.

i think its fruity as opposed to ADM fom what your saying...

how does it deal with other multi output vsts - battery/kontakt/shortcircuit etc ?

edit - apologies if patorinising, but

Right click far left output

choose - multi outputs.

Thats it (AFAIR, at work ATM)

edit 2 - also join up at forum, hes a very helpful man. get a reply after a day or two.

Never used them mate. I am quite sure it is a FL query now. I had never heard of these multiple output options before now...

assuming youre on PC< might be worth trying the free shortcircuit sampler - jsut to see how it deals with multiple outs.

its also the best vst sampler ive come across, and its free ! :o

vember audio

also could try asking on the Audiorealism forum, he checks it almost every day.

Edit - might be worth editing your thread title to 'multiple outs in fruity' or summat to get more help - im obv a cubase person.

If you have fruity q's and no one is answering here, pm me.
I got it working after following the instructions on here.

I did not need to do what you suggested. I am at work now but so cannot test things but hat difference would I expect to see after making the change you talk of?

Thanks all.

Its pretty sick man, gunna upgrade up to 5 once I get my mixing desk and ive got a couple of nice old mics sitting around should be getting a proper different sound outta my tunes ! But cubase isn't a real big learning curve - it does the same as FL - just handles audio 20 times better, so unless you use LOADS of audio and not much midi or record a lot of audio (as in more than 1 input at a time) then theres no need for cubase (in my opinion)

I have 5 but not bothered to use it. Which do you find is easier for automation?

Well cubase sets all the main automation parameters automatically when you hit record move a knob/slider or open a native VST and it maps them already - so I don't really see why people don't like the automation, they're both good in my opinion
