Well in knowing who he is, quite a bit I imagine. You did the interview, so presumably you know.
his name is irrelevant and i can assure you his very first release was the hyperdub 12".
His name is irrelevant, but people are obviously going to be interested in knowing what other artist name/s he went by if the rumours were true, that he is some old skool producer, but if he has never released before then thats all i want to know.

I think it's quite refreshing to be honest - found the interview with Blackdown very interesting. He doesn't DJ, unlikely to play live so its good to hear someone that's not after being recognized on the streets and being on magazine covers.

Perfect antidote to todays celeb-slag bullshit

i dont agree at all
Why? Have you heard Modus Operandi?
yeh ive heard modus operandi. i think theyre almost polar opposites, burial's music (to me) is about warmth, emotion, soul, blurs... photek is precision, austerity, fear... burial feels personal while photek feels almost completely impersonal

dont get me wrong, i love photek, but i dont see similarity
I agree with the precision thing. Massive difference there. But the first time i heard burial, Photek poped intp me head. I think Burial is quite cold almost chilling infact.

I never understood why there was so much hype over Photek. Very over rated. Sorry, going off on a tangent now...

It's what you know. And he knows soundforge like the back of his penis. :D
is it?

NO.

Or continental, at least.
I'm going to get jumped on for this but the first time I heard it it totaly reminded me of old french house - Motorbass's album. Badly recorded, second hand drum machines... dunno, just got the same sound, the same late night vibe to it.

Burial is warm and organic, Photek is cold and calculating. And shit. Sorry. But he is.

Well now it looks like that burial is a trickery which was thought up by managers so that they could increase selling of soundforge among naive dubstep producers whose later effort to achieve similar sounds are gonna end up with only slight or no success at all...

Maybe his latest stuff, but his early works were mind blowing such as UFO/RINGS AROUND SATURN & NI-TEN-ICHI-RYN :o

yeah, Photek did some great stuff.
"cold and calculating," maybe, but some of the results were exquisite.
same could be said about Loefah.

btw: half the "German" producers i referenced up-thread aren't German at all, sorry 'bout that.
