YouTube Downloader - help needed
I've just installed a copy of YouTube Downloader onto my work machine so I can snaffle some samples off of YouTube to pass the time on conference calls.
I've already got the program loaded on my home PC, so have got it installed correctly and can download the YouTube videos as .flv files as per usual.
However, I'm unable to convert them videos to MP3 files as I'm getting an error message telling me I haven't got the right codecs.
Have had a quick Google and am having trouble trying to figure out what extra things I need to get, and where they need to go.
Anyone know anything about this?

Ah, this brings me to the next issue - for some reason my company network blocks all YouTube videos over about 1m in length. So I can't open them and record via playback using Audacity.
YouTube Downloader gets around that as I can still drop in the video URL and it'll rip an FLV file for me.

Doesn't even let me open my already d'loaded .FLV files.

Update: Due to recent update in Youtube TOS, conversion from youtube has been disabled. We are working on adding features so you can download from other video websites along with other new tools to help you get mp3. Thanksstrukture wrote:fuck installing shit when u could just go here http://www.listentoyoutube.com/
Only extracts at 64kbpsstrukture wrote:or here http://www.vidtomp3.com/index.php

Spot on fella, just what I was looking for

Ended up snaffling this off of that link - much appreciated

nice one bruv!!1Eops wrote:posted this up before but - hey I repeat myself
Go to a YouTube page
Type this line into your address field
javascript:window.location.href = 'http://youtube.com/get_video?video_id=' + swfArgs['video_id']+ "&fmt=18" + "&l=" + swfArgs['l'] + "&sk=" + swfArgs['sk'] + '&fmt_map' + swfArgs['fmt_map'] + '&t=' + swfArgs['t'];
That's it! To make it even simpler, just create a bookmark that contains that piece of code and whenever you want to download a movie, click your bookmark. Hey presto - you've got the video in a lovely MP4 format that allows for frame by frame scrubbing in QuickTime.
