Randomer "blind" is the big one recently. Otherwise, yeah, the style's been an integral part of the d&b scene for well over half a decade.

Yeah at the end of the day it is just drum & bass that has experimented with the beat, I think what your looking for is drum and bass that has been heavily influenced by dubstep. Like what one or two people have been saying; D-Bridge and Instra:mental have been pushing this, check out out the mix that D-bridge did at FWD:

No.

It's just another form of drum and bass with artists experimenting with rhythms and styles. The same way the technoy dubstep stuff with a 4/4 beat is still dubstep.
The bpms are too far apart for them to merge under one heading.
Word - it's obviously not dubstep, it's halfsteppy DnB, I fucking love it though, I saw Alkemy of bristol spin a set of it a while ago and it was amazing! All the things I love about dubstep (good dubstep) but at 170.

Very cool stuff.

That's somefootage I took of Current Value at Bangface Weekender.

The track is a track by him called Bruja. It's not been released yet. But you can hear it in better sound quality in his set for the Barcode Records Podcast (it's about 6 and half minutes in or so) on iTunes or the Barcode Records site. It's called Filthcast 7. Download this shit now. It's so sick. Got a fair amount of half time shit at the beggining.
