rewinding me up

Post by tedmanzie » Fri Oct 20, 2006 10:18 pm

I'm just starting to listen to dubstep again after about 2 years totally out of it, i downloaded the Hatcha at The End podcast from the FWD site. Some really interesting music on there but jesus, EVERY track except one gets rewound, most get rewound twice, some three times!!... totally kills the flow for me, reminded me how much I used to dislike rewinds when I used to go to FWD. I like to get my head down in a club and get into the flow, for me rewinds take you out of the music space and back into the club - i.e. a lot of blokes shouting for a rewind. Anyway, music sounding pretty good so I'm not really complaining (much). Ted.

p.s. anyone know what the last track is on that mix - kind of old reggae that breaks out into dubstep and back again, big synth sound, wicked!

yeah, 2 or 3 rewinds in a set is plenty.
basically, if it's a new or newish tune that drives everyone apeshit, pull it.
but, whatever really, 's all good.

i think that tune is Skream's "me love it."

it's about crowd response, which is impossible to convey on an mp3.

some interesting words on the matter here...

http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/f ... me_Dubstep

for me it depends on execution... if the vibe is right and the tune is big then it needs it... if its arbitrary and unnecessary then it pisses me off a lot... but its a personal thing, its so subjective

tronman your sigs smack it... i miss the brukout vibes one though, consistent jokes
