Any recommendations appreciated

Post by makeitgrimey » Tue Jul 15, 2008 11:08 am

Really starting to get back into dubstep having gone off it around last Christmas and want to start building my meager collection. I mix dnb so I don't want to increase my monthly vinyl bill too much but if you could recommend me any big 12"s that I shouldn't be without it would be greatly appreciated. If I were to sum up my taste in the genre it would probably be along the lines of the Plastician May mix and the stuff dnb heads are putting out etc.

Also if you could identify these songs by the samples/vocals I've got stuck in my head-

"Yout calm down, yout calm down, when badman about run far now"

"We rise the temperature,we no bust no replica,we rise the temperature, doctor are the predator"

Cheers.

My recommendation would be to stop buying DnB and focus on Dubstep!

Ok maybe im joking a little, but thats what seems to have happened to me. I haven't bought (or played) a piece of DnB for a couple of months now...

As far as artists go you might want to try:

Digital Mystikz (Coki & Mala - they both produce their own solo stuff aswell)
Benga
Benny Page
Distance
Tes La Rock
Skream
Rusko
Caspa
Komonazmuk
SP:MC

If you find you like the deeper slightly darker stuff then try Martyn & Geoim.

thats just the beginning, im sure people will add much much more.
Signatures suck
