Is there an AIM addy? I really dun trust posting links to .wavs on forums even via PMs - let alone uploading them on the internet.

Fair play for what you're doing there mate.
Alot of mastering hoses ask for the AIFF files these days. Plus they don't really require them to be completely 'dry' with no processing on them, so long as there's a bit of headroom it's not really a problem, which surprises me that your asking for WAV files totally dry.
I've had tracks mastered in Germany before and they've turned out amazingly considering i sent them mixes with lots of processing. Always with plenty of headroom though mind.
Still, good luck with what your efforts. I'll stick to the established engineers like Macc though.

I can also work with .aiff files, i just personally prefer Wav's. Its just a personal preferance.
I wanted the dry wav's, simply because thats how i feel i get the best results. Needless to say i'd want a good turnout to leave a good first impression. Also, that is why i requested 24bit cuts.
Cheers for the feedback & i hope that answred you'r questions.
Please note that the only thing disapointing here is that this guy has blatently slated my service, even though he never even sent me a track to master!!!!"Really disappointing."

So, I'm a pretty dedicated lurker... but this whole thread is pretty confusing, so I feel the urge to post.mondays child wrote:Fair play for what you're doing there mate.

I'm sure macc will probably confirm this, but when I've tentatively enquired about his service in the past, he's asked for stuff to be 'dry'.
If you're too lazy to turn off your limiters and turn shit down for a master that you're PAYING for, when the people with the experience are telling you it'll be better if you do, then you're dumb.
It seems like this whole thread has turned into a macc vs. snipaz argument that doesn't even exist.
As far as I'm concerned, this guy is wanting to have a crack at mastering, and if that means a few of us can get a freebie, why the fuck is it a problem, and why all the snobbery? 'i'll stick to established engineers', dude, he's just doing it for free so he can learn.
I sent a couple tunes, I'll let people know how it goes... but I'm not going to be overly judgemental when it's being done FREE.
Macc did have a point I think, which seems to have got lost, if I was paying for this, I'd probably like to be able to ask 'so what did you do to it?' and get a vague answer. It wouldn't be me trying to steal 'tricks of the trade' or anything, just trying to figure out what my original mix was lacking (so I can learn).
but whilst it's free, you can claim whatever magic you want, tbh, listing your gear at me would probably go way over my head anyways.
Snipaz - glad you're doing this, can't for the life of me figure out why anyone is getting their knickers in a twist...

That's just harsh tbh, they made up, most people would be pretty pissed off if they got flamed for trying to help other people and improve their own skills at the same time. Really quite harshnowaysj wrote:I'm disappointed in you.
But based upon your behavior, I'm pretty sure I'd be disappointed in your service as well.

Firstly, there is no SnipaZ vs Macc argument. Both myself & Macc obviously are totally different people with totally different views, but we have managed to resolve our differences in a grown up manner. Just thought i'd clear this up.
I'm Glad that some people agree about nowaysj, i found it really out of order & thankfully it wasnt just me who did.
I don't see why nobody can offer a free service on a forum like this without somebody who charges for the same service somehow having a go, but neways....
@ Miek CBA, Having been rushed to hospital yesterday & been greatly ill, i cannot put a definate time on your tune been mastered.
I can assure you though, that it will definatley be done ass soon as i can get it there
Same goes to anybody who sent me a track in the mast 2 days
I hope iv cleared things up

I've found the Izotope Ozone mastering guide to be very handy in general (even if you don't have the program). It's a free download in pdf format here. right click save as...jduffy wrote:I was searching for mastering tips,

Hiya would like to have a crack at this. Does anyone know if he just means dry as in no limiters and compressors or reverbs and other effects too + I'm guessing everything should still be eq'd. And this guy is setting an example, helpful + generous. Get well soon mate.
Give me a jungle or garage beat and admit defeat.
