What Mixer do you use?
What Mixer do you use?
I'm using a Numark DXM01-USB (got a usb in/out for pc/recording connection)....
It seemed like a good idea at the time but i aint really made the most of the USB capability.
I'm after something new with more features, kill-switches, effects etc etc
What mixer do you people use? Or what would you recommend?

Pioneer DJM 300 S. It's got the all the basic features for mixing and it's solid as a rock. Have had mine for five years now and have used it for scratching aswell (eventhough the fader isn't the best for this purpose) and there hasn't been a single thing wrong with it so far...

Citronic pro-10. Never had any probs with it during it's 7 years. Unlike my previous mixer, a Numark which just fell to bits after just 2 years

I got one of these badboys...

Fucking great but kind of expensive... effects are great, echo, delay and reverb are great for dubstep.
Had mine about three years and it is pretty fucked up... buttons don't work, one of the channels knackered. Used it for loads of parties and I think it has drunk more than it's fair share of beer. Anyone know where to get them fixed?
Used it for one of our nights in Corsica Studios and loads of knobs got nicked off it. Youngsta was playing... I reckon he had away with them.
Dan you little bastard give them back!
Defo reckomend one if you can afford it.

Maplins is the equivalent now - the one near us even has a geeky transexual - very surreal. Didn't Tandy turn into a computer retail chain that went bust.

crossfader is completely bruk, but i did hammer it very very hard in my days as a scratching hip-hop dj, its been a very sturdy mixer. definately looking on an upgrade now though, would ideally go for a pioneer or allen and heath
if you're playing out a bit and have the cash then i'd probs say the pioneer djm600...its been the most frequent mixer ive found in clubs, and is very good. its well worth being acquainted with the fx unit. allen and heath top end are ridiculous, some deep fx, but at a price. but they do seem to be creeping into the clubs more and more
thing i hate about these though is the cue... the best thing about my mixer is the little mini-crossfader for the headphones, so you can get the exact balance you want for monitoring
