can we stop using the 'brutal electro' patch from massive?

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but one year on and producers are still rinsing the Brutal Electro preset more than ever. This is getting truly ridiculous now. Just taken a listen to the Top 10 dubstep tracks on Beatport - at least 5 of them use it with barely a tweak, and mostly on every track of the release. Witness:

I'd say that about 40% of the dubstep that comes through here uses this preset.

so THATS what brutal electro patch is!!!!

for the record that is the worst sounding bassline on a big system... it is really painful on your ears when you hear it on a function 1 or similar....

i think alot of producers need to take note of this and filter it down - it sounds crap otherwise!

I love 16 bit but.... Surely SURELY!?

Im well not gettin on with massive atm, its so fahkin midrange. All the bass freqs seems to be about 200hz man.

lol, I thought I was the only person who had that issue. I'm sure Massive experts execute it nicely, and I still try and achieve mad sub with it, but generally I don't use it for sub at all. It's still worth the $, but I like Alchemy a lot. The importing audio into the oscillators is brilliant imo.

Haven't heard of Alchemy.. Freeware? Yeah i mean there's a load you can do with massive but i can';t even get it to sit well with my sub tracks

The biggest culprits are C&S. Every single one of their dubstep tracks is made up of 100% brutal electro.
