yeah, the pmc5 is a decent mixer, the standard in most bedrooms etc. normally you don't really need anything more (crossfaders are smooth, generally sounds good). i've got one myself but i'm thinking the 2 band Eq and lack of toys are making it a bit underspec for my 'needs'.
i've heard mixed opinions on the 007, some say the digital cf makes it sound a bit pants, and has been superceeded by the new 08 pro which apparently is the bees knees. each to their own though, besides i've not heard either of the mixers at all.
i'm thinking about getting that new pioneer djm800. pretty much overspec'd and over the top for anything i need to do, seeing as it's going to be in my bedroom 100%. wateva! =]

Tell you what that 'pioneer djm707' is pure sex, never seen one of them before, av to check that out.
Basically i need a decent mixer, two/three channel with kill switches and basic effects to replace my numark DXM01-USB, what in an ideal world should i be looking at?....no more messin about this time still, i want a mixer for life

The pioneers are fun mixers. But I think for longevity and quality you might want to take a look at Ranes and Allen and Heaths. Although, don't get me wrong Pioneer has some good mixers on the market.
I actually run my set up through 2 mixers I have a mackie that i run my fx and various sound sources through and a 3 channel numark.

Fucking great but kind of expensive... effects are great, echo, delay and reverb are great for dubstep.
Had mine about three years and it is pretty fucked up... buttons don't work, one of the channels knackered. Used it for loads of parties and I think it has drunk more than it's fair share of beer. Anyone know where to get them fixed?
Used it for one of our nights in Corsica Studios and loads of knobs got nicked off it. Youngsta was playing... I reckon he had away with them.
Dan you little bastard give them back!
Defo reckomend one if you can afford it.
Ditto that.
Like that granny in Running Man says about Ben Richards
He's one mean mutherfucker!

the best part of this mixer is that it lasts!!!
I had 3 mixers befor I got my pmc05, to cheap ones and one technics mixer ...
They all lasted half a year, a year ...
My pmc05 still works nice after 6 years now!!! And its been to all kinds of parties, traveled on buss, train, airplane...
Been spilt beer on, been dropped ...
.spiro.
