BassHead 002 - Otto Von Schirach "Bass Low" / "Bass Galactica 8"

2 dancefloor bombs by Miami's own mad scientist Otto Von Schirach. This release is a take on the classic Miami Bass sound we know and love, but with a year 3000 twist.

release date: June 2009, vinyl & digital

distributed by ST Holdings

Here is some feedback (which I will be updating as we get more):
Si Begg (DJ Various / Radio Various) “Fucking AWESOME!!!! Loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit loveit”

Mat V (Hyponik / Civil Music) “This is amazing!!! Full support, lots of play and will get a review on the site”

Mysterious Mr O (Detroit Grand Pubahs) “The Otto van Schirach single is really nice, reminds me of Dynamix II but with a crazy twist. Wicked bass. Bangs! Will play out for sure”

Nerm (Radio 1) “This is ace!!! Will play when I stand in for Mary Anne Hobbe’s show next week, thanks very much”

Laurent Garnier (Radio Noos / DJ Various) “Thanks so much for the link, I really like the Bass Low track will play”

Noyeahno (Rag & Bone / Sub FM) “Loving the bass low track!!!! Gotta love the old skool flavour, support from me”

AGT Rave Cru (Posthuman / DJ Various) “Juddering 80's electro workup with wonky hardcore vibes and a snarling bitcrushed 808 kick screaming its way all along the bottom - will be most certainly playing this out”

Ali (Spannered.Org) “I have always liked his music and this is no exception, will review on the site or sure! “

Electro Elvis (Wang / Bloc / Balance) “This is massive, I have loads of Otto’s stuff on Schematics and this I reckon is even better! Will play this at all my gigs this year, any vinyl?”

Warlock (Rag & Bone) “A fresh and original take on the otherwise tired sound of electro. Like it. Always a big fan of the crazy man”

Jakeone (Toob / Red Snapper) “Cheers for this, ‘Bass Low’ is solid electro that I would most certainly play at the right gig ‘Bass Galactica’ is good but too hectic for me”

Leo Fieldgrass (Entrada / DJ Various) “Whoa, speaker damage ahead! I'm liking the old-school electro vibes vs IDM cut-ups of Bass Galactica but Bass Low is the killer for me - loving that Miami Bass feel! A definite party-starter”

Robert Owens (Fingers Inc/ Compost / DJ Various) “Thanks for the CD, Nice EP and all tracks cool”

Andrew Weatherall (RGC / DJ Various) “Good production and it the right hands this will be a killer"

Crispin Dior (Adventures In The Beeetroot Field / Various Festivals / Fabric) “Bass Low has stuck with me since you sent it! Certainly a choice number”

Bojan (Crobot Crew / Electro Promoters in Croatia) “Yeah I love Otto Music... He was in Zagreb like year ago.. it was awesome show! Thanks!”

Paul Hughes (Energy FM) “Bass Low mix is awesome, mind you I like them both. I can imagine dance floors going crazy to this what with the old skool samples bass how low etc etc, nice one”

Ben Lyford (Wang / Balance / Electroplated) “Hell yes. Cut up old skool electrosteppin' miami bass badness - Loving this, good combination of electro / bass with interesting tricks and great vocals. BASS GALACTICA is the one for me”

Derek (Combat Recordings) “Bass Galactica 8 - He played this at Bloc I remember. It kicked off quite nicely. Good groove, catchy vocals. Goes quite mental towards the end. Good production. Old skool miami bass flavour mixed with new skool production and glitchy IDM edits. Bass Low - Similar style to track Bass Galactica. I'd say both are really strong tunes, good for the dancefloor!”

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR SUPPORT!
