After a refreshing hiatus Surya Dub is back with none other than DMZ don, MALA of the Digital Mystikz. We are super proud and honored to host this worldwide recognized talent and pioneer of the Dubstep movement! We are also joined by local producer Eprom who is creating quite the buzz with big bass crunchers on a slew of labels; he’s been tearing up the Bay Area underground and beyond. SD Crew will also be on hand in full force, get ready!!

MALA (Digital Mystikz, Deep Medi – London, UK)
Mala – one half of the highly acclaimed Digital Mystikz has become a positive figurehead for the dubstep scene as one it’s finest purveyors of bass weight. He is a renowned producer, dj, label owner and cofounder of the international bass conference known aka club night DMZ. Mala brings a love of jungle, dub, roots reggae, garage & deep house to his productions and has had a series of releases on his own flagship label Deep Medi Musik, Soul Jazz, Fabric, Tempa, Planet Mu, and Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label. He has appeared on the airwaves numerous times on London’s Kiss 100, BBC Radio One and Mary Anne Hobbs’ seminal Dubstep Warz show. He has played with a who’s who of producers, djs and bands all over the globe and recently headlined Barcelona’s Sonar Festival on Radio One’s stage. Come meditate on his bass weight as Mala blesses the Surya stage!

EPROM (Surefire, Black Acre)
EPROM is known for his diverse, funky and energetic sets, which cross the lines between live remixing and manipulation of hiphop and breaks with his own obscenely bass-heavy neurocrunk transmissions. EPROM has played alongside artists like Modeselektor, Vibesquad, Ooah, Boreta, Bassnectar, Kraddy, edIT, and many others. EPROM is fusing his own brand of telekinetic crunksauce in the form of the new hybrid genre, Psyphy. His latest release is on Addictech Recordings, with more releases coming soon on a variety of labels. We are excited to have him get the party started as he debuts SD.

ROSS HOGG (Ital Selection Hi Fi)
Ross Hogg aka Duppy Ranks moved to San Francisco from Austin, TX in 1997. Shortly thereafter, he bought turntables and hasn't looked back since.
As a club DJ, he's always coming up with creative ways to keep the party jumpin' with the music he loves: hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, classics and his own remixes. As a mixtape DJ, he's garnered international attention for Slump & Grind Volumes I & II, the Bay Area rap mixes he made with DJ B.Cause, and his reggae mixes. He's been featured in The Fader, URB, SF Weekly, The Bay Guardian and Entertainment Weekly. He is also a staff writer for XLR8R.
