is it that hard? i've never tried, but i jus counted the beats in the intro and it seemed pretty standard...

been trying to get hold of this tune for tiiime

one of us - kryptic minds long beatless intro is hard, and i seem to struggle with diesel by kulture as well
got a 16 bar intro but the flute runs at 70bpm, so every loop runs for 2 bars. need to listen to the little hi-hat clicks in the background.

DZ - Down

This is a bitch to mix out of because of the stupid changes in where 1 is. Pisses me the fuck off when you have the track in time, going strong, and the track takes a left fucking turn, and you're left hangin with tracks now totally off!! :x :x :x

What I normally do to get around problems like this is set the gain at the right level whilst cueing up during a "normal volume" part of the song, make a mental note of the gain level using the markers around the gain pot, re-drop at the desired intro cue point and crank the gain for the quiet Intro. When you have it beat-matched, turn the gain back down to where you memorised the gain pots position and hey presto!

I'm having a bit of an issue trying to find something to go in nicely with the 16Bit remix of Babylon's Scared by Propa Tingz, purely on the grounds that it's so "chuggy" and has a bit of a "glitch" feel to it. I know it's all quantised properly but it's all about the feel isn't it! Any suggestions for an appropriate tune to go after that would be hugely appreciated!

i can understand that one. if nothing else is going on its easy to hear the "obvious" beginning, but its also real easy to THINK youre on the right beat.

ive got one, not hard because of the beats, but because the drops are off the 16/32 bar thing...

Kontext - Flumes (Ramadanman Remix)

id play it a hell of a lot more if it kept to the proper structure, its such a tune, beautiful in fact, especially the second drop...

1 that alwyas throws me is Phokus - Inta (Wadadda remix). It's got to be cued like 10 seconds before the drop lol

Oh n took me a few goes to work out the intro to Biome - Magic tree too. kinda wierd off beat blips n stuff

gully brook lane / 3klane

seems like the guitar/whateever it is isnt in time with the slight bit of drums on the intro, tough to focus on em.. figured it out eventually, but took me a bit..

All tunes can be played and mixed well....you need to expand your tricks n techniques! Most tunes with beatless intros can be tricky, just find the first beat-get em matched then go back the the start and just let that bitch ride! I also use what I can " introduction style" which I use when playing reggae or dancehall....just keep mixin and you will get it.

I scratched my head for a bit about the intro being off tempo in Rusko's Biggest Chopper until I realized that it was almost a straight cut from a Congo Natty breakdown and that this track works perfect to transition from jungle/dnb to dubstep! :D

I have flailed a bit on DZ's Knowledge rmx and tend to steer clear of it because of that. :?

Flying Lotus - Glendale Gallaria is a real challenge for me, the drum pattern just seems so strange...

I have fits with a lot of Joker's stuff. No problems beatmatching and all that, it's just that he has such a distinct sound that it's difficult to create a good flow with the other stuff I play.
