"Self circle" - a first introspective dub

Post by a.|<.a » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:07 am

Hi there !

I've been playing the bass for 10 years, listening to electro music for 4 - 5 years and i discovered dubstep like a year ago with Excision's Shambhala mix on this right forum...
I've tried to mix several of my influences and stick to a dubstep ground at the same time.
It's an ogg file, but i can provide a mp3 320, although ogg is less destructive. :D
Hope you'll enjoy it. Feel free to leave a com or to write down an elaborated criticize of the track.

for me, you've got some good ideas in this track, but you need to make a better structure. also I think the rythmic need to be more in front.

What do you mean by "a better structure" ? Which aspects of the structure would you change ?
To say things real i tried to copy live mix effects, thats why there are 3 separate 'mini tracks' in 1.
You might have heard that i used plenty of subtle samples especially in the background of the 1st mini track. If i emphasize the rythmic aspect, we wont hear it anymore. Got an idea to keep the brightness of glitchy samples in the background and to reinforce the rh thing at the same time ?
And last but not least, what do you think about the handling of infra/sub frequencies in the second mini track ?
Appreciate your reply...
