How arrogant can you be?
Not really arrogant at all, just the truth, IMO. It took me a bit to get into it Dubstep until the production quality evolved past sounding like presets on a keyboard.

There are people who still don't "get it", and probably never will.

Joe Nice is exactly that, a really nice guy and a major pioneer Stateside. If you cut him open he'd bleed molten black vinyl and smell like dubplates.

Sure he talks alot, but then again, it's also a radio trick to keep people from bootlegging.

moving this (remarkably ill-sighted) thread out of the production forum as it's got nothing at all to do w/ production.

What he says is absolutely correct. Some people are not attracted to it the first time they hear it.

We just had one of the first shows here showcasing dubstep, and many of the people I talked to about going were all "meh" about the sound - because they had only heard it on car stereos and mp3 players. There were more than a few people who came up to me at the end of that night letting me know they now understand why people are into it. You have to feel the music - literally and not just emotionally, coming from a larger sound system, to get the full effect.

confidence is not arrogance. too many people don't understand that. joe is one of the most confident people i know, and if anything, thats part of the reason why he does what he does.
