lol yeah definitely, most percussion parts in funky are WAY more complex than most dubstep drums

get sum drums
add a bass going 'duhn dun dun d dun' (put on repeat)
add a few claps and clicks
add some emotional woman wailing over the top in lil samples
then finish it with some fuckin bongos

i kind of think the point of uk funky isnt to be like headphone vibes. Like it takes the club elements of grime and puts it in a format you can dance to with girls or whatever. So like if it sounds shit listening to it on on youtube, that's probably why...
just to say im not a fan either, but like yeh its not an all times all places kind of music

most of you would have said the same about dubstep in the first couple of years. Give it time, wait for more drum and bass influence to creep through and you'll all be funky 4 life. Dont like it much my self, just saying there are hints of directions it could take which I can get into.

House like Octa Push, Geeneus, Grievous Angel, Kode 9, Ramdanman & Blim-Sous la Sable, Roska Elevated Levels are dope. Dunno how much of that is 'funky' but house is house

how is funky any less susceptible to dnb influence then UK garage was? both are house.

Uk garage came from Jungle/DNB (i.e. being played in 2nd rooms of dnb nights) Funky came from house and grime.

Thats the thing, i dont actually know what is and what isnt 'funky house' and what is or isnt 'uk funky'. It seems the 2 phrases seem to mean the same thing to different people.

DnB influencing most things always turns out pretty tasty though. Lets hope it gets rid of those fucking ridiculous budget calypso drums and gives the bitch who keeps singing soppy bollocks over every tune a good slapping anyway!

I dont mind it but DJs, if the dancefloor is absolutely rammo, don't play some funky house tunes you've been feeling recently, we cant dance to it properly and it ends up feeling really flat.

I don't personally like Funky House but girls love it, so what can you do. It's a big night to go to... This UK Funky ting is narco though. I understand chilled, but it makes me wanna go sleep. It's the sort of music I reckon I'd listen to if I was making love to a fleshlight.

funky house tends to have a harder 4/4 kick from wt i seen. uk funky has that kinda salsa/carnival vibe about it with bongo's n whistles n stuff. seems "lighter" than funky house.

Also, funky house can get confused with electro n house whereas its harder to confuse uk funky with electro.
