Not really, its a valid question.
The same question applies for a pair like Dillenja & Lemon D...
Out of the pair, who is the better producer. For all I know, one of them may be a bookings agent while the other is simply a dj..... Or they may both produce parts of each and every song put out......?
I'm about as underground as anyone really. I hardly follow the mainstream, but then I actually hardly follow the underground either... I couldn't give a toss what sound anyone is putting out tbh. If I like a sound, I promote, if I don't I deride it... Nuff said.
This thread wasn't about any sound tbh, but about who actually is the better producer. I know fuck all about Chase and Status, precisly because I dislike their sound. But they intrigue me because they've been so successful, both as d'n'b producers and dubstep producers.
I admittedly should've left a poll option to the effect of 'neither, they're both amazing!' too... My bad.

i don't know much about them individually because i thought they produced as a pair. i'm also not really a fan of their work.
but they are very good producers and that is a fact. the same thing with pendelum. although i hate their music their songs are generally very well produced.
i think chase and status have been successful because of that. they produce a sound that is very professional sounding and that works well with the majority of people.

Too many people with credibility issues try to deconstruct music that is made by more than one person and figure out who the "brains" behind the operation is.
I think it would be amusingly and groin grabbingly ironic to see a ledger in an album that explains every single quirky little sound, who put what effect on it, who made the original, when it comes in. This would be like an old metal band with two credibility issue laden guitarists.
