I buy my music legal through Beatport.com and upload through Wordpress.org
Is that what you call piracy?

Yes, those songs are being sold for money, you are giving them away for free.
That's not cool.
ANY THOUGHTS?
Nero's brand new EP has been posted along with close to 100 others. The whole of Herve's Ghetto Bass album is on there.
edit: links removed. this is not acceptable!

Gotta admit that it does seem a bit rich for this to be coming from Hush House, since you've posted full quality tracks without the artist's permission in the past.

I no this isnt what this thread is about but I don't see how this is going to help the music industry because alot of people dont have money to buy new music every week and therefore new artist would not sell music. I remeber reading somewhere that most music is brought by people that use piracy anywho so it goes back to the point made about try before you buy.timmyyabas wrote:if you can't afford it, don't listen to it.
if you can't get it in the format you want, don't listen to it.
Yeah the guy giving away tracks that isnt his he's wrong obviously because it isnt his place.

Piracy is a fact of life. If you're talented, you will have to deal with it. I don't really care, it's not like I've paid for every single tune I've ever listened to. I've seen people on soulseek with a couple of tunes of mine that I don't know. It is kind of grimy, but people wouldn't steal shit if they didn't like it to begin with. I don't really expect much else. I give away my tunes for free if someone asks. It ain't no big thang. If I wanted to desperately make money or something, I'd become a generic electro house DJ. lpl
However, I don't share any tunes that people I personally know have sent me. Even if they haven't asked me to. THAT would be fucked up.

Wait a minute, if they were giving your shit away on a blog how would you catch them in the street doing it? Would you somehow use their IP to track them down to ...kill them? or beat them down? haha Would it really be worth it? Is it because you're signed to a label? How much money do you see off of a single tune, if you are? I've always heard that "dubstep is serious musics made by serious cats", but come on now. Can't be worth it.big ben wrote:If I caught you on tha streets giving my shit away you would catch a hot one.

all websites that sell tunes have preview clips on there for trying before you buy, also that's wot mixes etc. are for. try b4 u buy is no excuse for piracy.
if artists/labels want you to have it for free, they will give it away. anything else is stealing, end of.

You can't fight it. It's ridiculous to even bitch about it, really. The industry has changed. What producers and labels need to do is adapt, and some labels have done a really good job of that. That's all you can really do.
In it's own way, piracy has shaped the course of music itself. People are listening to more music in general, because it's more accessible to us now.

tha deal is , these are a bunch of thieves. and you're taking sides with a thief. there might not be anything I can do about it, but if I catch someone in tha real world doing this shit, yeah, I would stomp a Texas size muddhole in the ass of whoever. Catch my drift?Feral Witchchild wrote:Piracy is a fact of life. If you're talented, you will have to deal with it. Thank you for reporting us, we work very hard at getting full permission for all the tracks, with many emails back and forth with the various artists.THE-VOICE-OF-REASON wrote:I reported that blog and hush house to my ISP as they are BOTH giving away tunes .
Occasionally I admit some of the posts aren't fully linked but seeing as I'm doing this for free and perhaps you don't understand the amount of time and effort that it involves I think this is acceptable on the occasion.
We have slipped up with a couple of tracks, but in each of these circumstances the tracks have been blogged before and therefore assumed that permission had been granted where it hadn't. We have learnt from our mistakes.
I hope now that you email your service provider stating that you have made a mistake.

...I don't understand, are you threatening me? Haha. I didn't mean to disrespect you, dude, I'm just saying piracy is a fact of life - if you make good music, people will steal it.big ben wrote:oh, and if you didn't know. Down here in Texas we will smoke you for disrespect.

I mean, I could understand like being THAT pissed if someone ELSE was making money off of the tunes after stealing them, but that's different.

No it isn't, do you really think most producers can afford to clear all the samples they use? How do you think they get these samples? lplMiig wrote:

Shit, I'm not saying it's ok to steal, I personally think it's fucked up, as I said, but what can you do? Hatin' isn't going to make filesharing a nonexistent thing.

well imagine that we didn't have the internet. if you wanted to put out any music at all you would have to get yourself signed to a big label. it used to be an all or nothing thing. either your a big star who makes millions or your nobody, and even people with amazing talent get passed by because they never got lucky with a big break. now everyone can be heard.
and if you think about it, most artists best album is their first right? the one with all the songs they wrote when they were broke. then they blow up, lose touch with reality/start believing their own hype and put out garbage for the rest of their career.
