I don't like to label myself as one thing or another but I reckon I'm more left wing than most.

Any particular reason?

I'm anti-ideaology. :)

Most of them need some kind of tyrannical force to implement.

I'm all for making our current system better without tearing it down these days... Use the system to beat the system, innit.

Socialism's ok, as long as it isn't taken too far and involves some kind of democratic process.

IMF and World Bank style capitalism sucks ass big time and is one of the most evil forces on the planet, and people seriously need to stop eating out of their hands.

I reckon we should be more democratic, like everyone gets to vote on everything, we should get rid of big business so everyone runs things themselves on a smaller local, more anarchistic scale, all essential services should be socialised like drug companies, transport systems, stuff for old people, utilities companies and banks. Definatly things should be a lot more liberal so people can take the drugs they want, put on parties without health and safety regulations. People should work less, care about bullshit less, have more of a life generallly.

human rights arent even fully established yet... we need complete freedom as long as it doesnt harm someone else
ancient greece had it right

"town hall" meetings where anyone who cared could contribute and vote. this could be accomplished nowadays with the internet if we could make it secure.

but the question is: do people actually know whats best for them?

Yeah this is kind of like Plato's Republic, when they had a pretty perfect democracy (unless you were a woman or a slave) and he said there was a tryanny of the majority, in that the masses were stupid or would abuse the minorities like the rich, he had a point, people will generally take what's best for them rather than society as a whole, I don't know, I guess it would still be unjust just hopefully it would be worth it.

Greek style direct democracy isn't really possible to implement on a 60m+ population because the majority of people will have no idea about what they're voting on, the rule of a country this size is too complex to demand a working knowledge from every citizen and a situation where you'd vote on some issues and have an MP do most of the rest is a betrayal of the principle; the MPs would have to decide on the issues we got to participate in.
Representative democracy, whereby we elect people we trust to make the decisions for us, simply leads to fucking scumbag career politicians whose primary motivation is their own movement towards power, their secondary the assumption or preservation of power for their party, their third the employment of relatives and friends and skanking the system any way they can. The good of the country is so far behind in a political environment that is basically a popularity contest; take drugs, almost every study or think-tank has concluded that (history demonstrating) prohibition does not work, people do drugs anyway and criminalising them merely creates a black market run by gangsters. Legal drugs would be pure, regulated and taxable. Any politician who would ever even mention legalisation, even just a little bit, would be immediately decapitated by the Daily Mail and a bunch of panicking stnuc- that's right dear the crackhead who stole your purse ought to put in prision where there's loads of fucking crack and where he can learn to break into your house. People are too stupid to know what's best, newspaper's tell stupid people they're clever in order to sell papers, and slimy fuckshits do about 100 days work a year telling us how if we vote for them, things will be very very slightly better tomorrow.

We a need a giant computer to calculate the absolute minimum of necessary legislation to make sure my freedom doesn't come into too much conflict with yours, and a massive decrease in global population. right to have a child? you're infertile because you're evolutionarily compromised, and you can't support a family of ten because you're too stupid, or rather stupid enough to have a family you couldn't support.

Pretty much a Libertarian would be the closest you could call me, but I don't even know if that is accurate. I fiercely believe in the U.S., we need to get more parties involved, as the stranglehold of dems vs. rep. is infuriating to me. Both parties fucking suck big donkey balls, and 99% of their actions seem to have some sort of scheme behind them to dislodge the other party (democrat or republican).

If we get an independant in there, at least they will know that we the people are sick of this bullshit and we want new blood in the government, stop all the stall tactics, and FUCKING GET SHIT DONE. Just about every piece of legislation that goes through our system is a stall, putting off any real solution to our problems.

Lobbyists pretty much control all the legislation that goes through our government, yet if everyone voted on the issues (like your neighbor) the mob mentality would take effect and may easily have us make the wrong decision. (think if the rednecks of this country had their way) There has to be a happy middle ground somehow.

For sure I do know that we need to change our international diplomacy, stop being the world police, bring back our miltary to preWW2 statis (right now our military is built up always ready for action anywhere in the world, before WW2, that was never the case)

If we cut our spending on the military in half, it would cut our national budget by half at least.... then we got money to put in places we need like education, health care, etc.... REDUCE THE MILTARY you fucktards!!! We absolutely don't need it built up like it is now.

Rant over....
