MPD32 PROBLEM

Post by daryo » Mon Jun 29, 2009 2:13 pm

Hi guys! I just got and mpd32 that seems great but after having a midi session I noticed a problem.
Sometimes I can hear double shots of the same sound even if I didn't press it twice.
Does anyone own a mpd32? How could I fix this problem?

Thanks in advance

it's double triggering-- don't hit the pads as hard.

yes it's double triggering, you can adjust the sensitivity of the pads and find the right setting for your style.

click the "global" button, then use ">" button to navigate over 4 slots to "Pad Sens" menu. Adjust to taste, then click "Preset" to exit the menu. I keep mine at 10.

Full Level just means the pads will always output midi at 127 (full midi velocity), but their sensitivity to touch is not controlled by this.

Sorry, don't use Logic. I use Ableton Live and the mpd primarily for controlling Battery 3.

yeah actually, on the same topic, can someone explain to me how the MPD32 works with Logic EXS24?

I've been thinking about buying one for a while now to groove and jam the dums out, i'm tired of hitting the keyboard which just doesnt feel right...

Once you install the MPD32, does exs24 knows it's a Pad controller right away? and you can bang out the samples on the MPD pads? or does it need a lot of setting up? i have read there is no pre-sets for logic in the MPD32?

what i mean is...
eg.1. If i had ONE sample spanned across 3 octaves in a exs24, does it mean I can hit different keys to THAT sample? C, D, F, etc etc on the same sample?

eg.2. What IF i had a made a drum set (rex) and thrown it into exs24?
will it give me each "drum hit (snare, kick, hatz)" on each pad? much like on a keyboard on different keys?

and all the knobs/faders assignable to whatever plugins so i can record automation?

Also, will the MPD32 run like a MPC where the drums keeps going while recording and you can add hits from different banks in a "live' way...(if you know what i mean...)

sorry to hijack your thread... I've been looking everywhere for answers... not many places seem to have all the answers i want...

cheerS! any help with this one would be great

i have it since a couple of days...
if you use it for controlling a sampler (like exs24 in logic) you can load different sounds and play them in different tonalities like it was a keyboard.
if you load a bank of sounds like ultrabeat every pad has it sound but i think you can do it by yourself by mapping your mpd. i'm still trying to understand this point
for the drums that keep playing i'd like to know it too : )

hope u understand my english
