What DAW do big name producers like to use? FL? Live? Logic?
I know that Skream uses FL Studio, Rusko uses Acid Pro
Chase and Status: Cubase
Mala: Reason(?)
Benga: Logic (TRUTH say he used FL)
TRUTH: FL
Goth Trad: Ableton
I want to ask, why there are so many big name producers who like to use FL Studio? easier? faster?

Skream and Benga use FL studio because its what they have been using since they were about 13 when they started making beats. Its a really top program for beginners and pros alike because of the speed that you can lay down a beat with the step sequencer. I have used it for years to make beats and then transport them into cubase for mixing/arranging etc (I think Benga does the same thing but he exports his beats to logic) but I havent really used it as a full DAW because Ive always used cubase and it just feels like home now.
Try out a few of them, there are loads of demos available and find one that suits your needs.

just echoing the point that its not the daw its YOU, workman & tools spring to mind.
even if i had logic b2b cubase b2b acid pro
id still just use it as a sequencer for samples......
(i use fl btw - and its sick)

I've heard the whole "use what you want, any big producer can make beats on any program"
and while it's true I think it is interesting to see what the producers out there are using. Also when you're new to production it's nice to have a little validation that it is possible to get professional sounds out of the daw you're using as opposed to "my DAW sucks I'll upgrade to DAW x eventually then they will sound good" If you're DAW is up to scratch then it pushes YOU to make those sounds

A lot of them live in South London and went to Big Apple records a lot so they all knew each other from a young age. I cannot remember who was using FL first but they prob just copied each other and would share tips! FL was just an easy to use DAW that was good for making bass and getting drums down fast.
It is prob fare to say they could write music on any DAW, even if they had not used it before.

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

as much as it you as a person and not the DAW, i still disagree slightly....
i tend to find that when i use logic i find myself being able to create better tracks than on cubase. i use logic at uni but cubase at home. maybe its because ive been taught more in depth how touse logic. plus i just love it its amazing

He uses both. FL for writing, Logic for sequencing and mixing.garnettk wrote: Benga: Logic (TRUTH say he used FL)

FL pretty much started dubstep
Quite surprised this hasn't been alpaca'd yet tbh
Yeah different producers use different DAWs
all depends what you're comfortable with/ what you've learned on tbh
