I read about it a lot. But I'm too lazy to do those reality checks (I always forget) or to do keep a dream diary (I forget my dreams, the diary or I'm just too tired to open it).
Also, you could say I'm on the verge of being an insomniac, I can't "clear" my mind, resulting in 1-3 (sometimes 4-5) hours being awake in my bed before I can sleep. And this probably let's me "skip" dreaming, since I didn't have a dream for a few weeks/months.

But I want to lucid dream.

What's the point of anything? waste comment.

I'm gonna try lucid dreaming, gradually heard more and more about it over the years and watched "Waking Life" etc etc, really interested in it.

lucid dreams are the best,

its quite some work to keep up with them though.

I was trying to for a couple of months and I ended up having one full blown lucid dream. you have to come across a moment in the dream when things seem to weird to be real, and run with that feeling. I realized my friend wasn't even talking then i was conscious looking at a stain-glass painting world rearranging itself and flew around for a bit and woke up.
Worth the effort for that short experience but I can't imagine having them all the time

its very cool when you will be able (as you practice) to induce the lucid dreaming like every time you want - even from just being awake

and after goes a possibility of out of the body experience. thats where things get pretty scary

Woho, I had a lucid dream last night! Was flying/hovering over a forrest of white hands, and realized I was dreaming, flied some more, crashed into a barn at some point, met a girl, talked to her for a while, tried to fuck her, but woke up before she could get her clothes off - goddamnit, hehe.

Been reading alot about lucid dreams recently and started having some weird experiences.
I had my first low level lucidity dream a while ago, dreamt i was with my girlfriend and her legs were made of glass, which made me realise i was dreaming. I tried to start changing shit but couldnt quite get hold of it.

Then recently i'v just been having ridiculously vivid dreams, where im just doing fairly mundane things having full detailed conversations with people etc.. Last night i had one where i was explaining to a friend a weird dream i'd had earlier that night.
Also had a false awakening two night ago. I was dreaming then 'woke up' thinking shit that was almost lucid cuz i had a weird sense of awareness, then not long after i really woke up in a different bed.

i spent the afternoon reading about this (at work - take that the maaaan). been trying to do some reality checks but i don't know what will work best, i never where a watch so i cant look at that. What does anyone else use here?

i remember i had a crazy lucid dream last year where i was like neo/spiderman/superman, basically i could do whatever i wanted. Me and some other guy (possibly a villian) had a race all over a huge city, flying/jumping between stuff. it was amazing.

Well because everything that happens is in first person, so you really feel things etc. It's not just like a movie, it's like being in the movie and feel everything.

I used to lucid dream all the time. Like every day. I'd come home from school, have something to eat, have a lucid dream, then bang on some computer games. I don't know why, I've just always found it easy to do. I can still do it at will, all I've got to do is lie face down with my forehead on my forearm and eventually I'll fall into a weird trance state where I'm fully aware I'm dreaming and still have full control over it.

I don't really do it any more though because it's a pretty addictive timewaster, and when I did do it people always used to say I looked red-eyed and stoned all the time (before I became a stoner). I also recall my attitude at the time and I've gotta be honest, I really wasn't actually fully conscious of reality. Nothing in real life was important, and it's like I lived my life in a bubble formed immediately around me. If you weren't in direct contact with me at the time I literally didn't give you a second's thought.

I think if you do it too much it gives you so much power that your limitations in the real world piss you off, and you just end up not caring about it.

Also every so often I'd just end up having to fight Satan. I think it was because I was a fundamentalist Christian but every so often Satan wouuld come in and hijack my dream, then I'd forget I was dreaming and basically be forced to fight and flee, and I'd wake up terrified.

It happened up until the last time, after I'd realized Christianity was bull**** vs. science. I simply realized I was dreaming and started manipulating my dream energy, through resonance if I recall, until I was as powerful as him. Then we had a massive great battle, fought to a standstill and he's never bothered me since.

This might be the best thing I've ever read on the internet.
