Can I get an AMEN (Dubstep With The Amen Break)

Post by doxxor » Mon Nov 06, 2006 12:07 pm

Been working on a track with my favorite drums of all time - the classic Amen break. Have a listen and tell me what you think.

I like the melody a lot, and also the way you chopped the amen, nice with the snare varying pitch in the end, a nod to amen chopfests without being too obvious.

I don't like all the delay that is going on, especially on that metallic hit that appears right in the first seconds and throughout the track. Too much!

Thanks for the feedback. I can see what you're getting at with the metallic hit. I have had my doubts about that one but haven't decide if I should keep it or not...

amen-approach is nice, but lacks a bit in 'glue', it sounds a bit too dry for me... was maybe thinking of a light snare or even some sort of pink noise or vinyl crackle.. but that's just smt personal
kicks sounds good
snare a bit more crispyness?
MORE DELAYS!!
and bit more elements (short samples, stuff like that)
atmospheric but a track you can bounce to

cheers
