...What do you guys think about dream weaving?
..because I am always having dreams that feel as if they are the thoughts of many different people sort of patched together..
I dream ALOT - and remember many of them..
I have some dreams that are like movies - like a person wants to show me somethings, and they guide me through a dream..
...like that J.Lo movie "The Cell" - I really liked that movie alot..

that could be you communicating with the "prototypes" (probably not the correct word but its something like that) of the people you have met and known, or simply imagined.bright maroon wrote: ..because I am always having dreams that feel as if they are the thoughts of many different people sort of patched together..
either that or its just dream nonsense like it is most the time.
unless youre talking about that "collaborative dreaming" which is interesting, you would think more people who sleep together would report it though
i had my first ever lucid dream the other night.
i was basically staying at my birds while she was working til 11pm, so i napped from about 7 til 11, and all there was to drink was full fat coke. she got back, had some fun, drank more coke. tried to go to bed, and literally fell straight into a different dream every time i woke.
ive had sleep paralysis quite a lot, and had it a couple of times that night before the lucid dream happened.
basically woke up paralysed cuddling my bird, and i was definitely awake, but heard and saw people driving past her window and throwing flyers or books or something into the room. definitely didnt happen cus cars are banned where she lives.
i tried waking her up but i could only move my mouth (still paralysed), so i started saying her name, didnt work, so i started licking her face (only thing i could do), and yeah i could still see the flyers on the floor and still couldnt move for a good few minutes.
then once i could move again i woke her up and the flyers and everything were gone.
is this a lucid dream?

great topic wiggles!
its REALLY crazy when you have a dream within a dream within a dream and then you realize you're dreaming and when you come out of the dream you wake up again and again and again .... really makes you question your own perception of "reality" and experience...
for all we know the dream state is the actual "reality" of our being, and this waking experience is our idled time.

I have a Lucid dream about once a week..
It's all about that magical moment when you are mid dream when you realise you are but you are still in the dream. When this happens everything gets kind of faded as far as my vision but I can fly around and do all kinds of cool shit. Sometime while in this state I ponder it too much and scare myself awake.. all about trying to prolong that halfway mark. Good shit

..funny..I just mentioned having a dream about running into something in the kitchen...
..Last night I dreamt that I was falling over the cafe table in the kitchen because I was too frozen to move...like this classic cat bit...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLTPZa012WI
...and in the dream I screamed really, really loud - murderously loud..and I woke up laughing about it...because I was fully awake in the dream..and didn't want that scream reverberating around..
I was literally all alone...laughing my ass off in bed..
..see, I feel like someone sent me that dream..

.lucid dreaming can also help a humans conscious mind by allowing humans to defeat their inner demons/fear etc. passed down thru generations of parents who did the "i have to hurt you/be mean cuz i care" or a better explanation might be something like dont do this because of this effect causing fear.......dreaming and nightmares are basically humans brains trying to teach them a lesson that they have yet to experience or emotions they have refused to deal with......try watching movies repeatedly with one eye{sideways hat} and the subliminall messages only affect one side of your brain allowing easier removal/examination of what the government/advertisers are trying to make you think........also by doing this you get the opposite knowledge "they/advertisers?" were trying to implant. ie the greatest advertising tool is making people feel insecure ......dealing with the implanted insecurities causes innate growth....if anyone would like to know more pm me i might make an audiobook fo ya......typing it out would take forever

Havent smoked in a few days so starting a dream diary tonight. Had a few other tips from the guy I know who was doing this for a while n all. Hoping to be able to remember whatever it is i dream about in the morning for now, would be a good start!
All quite exciting to be honest

Wicked, I really gave a go at alot of dream recall techniques and things yesterday, focused alot on trying to keep cognitive functions of recall etc. and I did just have a very vivid dream that I could remember chunks of fairly well (which is rare for me). Managed to write alot of it down when I woke up aswell which was good n all.
Actually noticed a couple of things within the dream that I think are good steps towards lucidity. There were a couple of points where I was actively looking down at my feet, and was actually aware in the dream that they looked different. Unfortunately didnt put two and two together, but that strikes me as a good start. Also, there was this corridor in the dream that had like a lift door at either end, and I know ive seen this before in dreams. Just going to keep practicing my dream recall techniques, aswell as making sure to map out my experience of waking life from time to time and hoping to at least have some more vivid, memorable dreams!
In all honesty, if I can start to get this interesting...fuck smoking!!

Sleep Paralysis... it's connected, but I don't think that was a fully blown lucid dream. You'd have more control over the dream (and be able to get up and walk around etc in the dream) if you were truly lucid. Sounds like with a little bit of practise you'd be able to though...d1rt1989 wrote:i had my first ever lucid dream the other night.

i've been keeping a dream diary over the past 3 nights and doing reality checks whenever i remember, usually looking at my hand and counting fingers/looking at the text on a old festival wristband.
been having quite vivid dreams, last night i was at a crazy house party with mars volta playing in the basement(!?) and everyone was messed up. I'm sure in the dream i sorta decided where i would go but it definitely wasn't full lucidity.
one thing i was wondering about is, if you get to the stage where you're having lucid dreams all the time, will that not make you really tired because your mind will be active even when it's meant to be recovering or some shit.

In Soviet Russia, the bass feels you.
ive had some accidental lucidity in my dreams a few times. doesnt last long though but i wake up and remember very vividly the parts that are lucid.
I also get sleep paralysis often and have some pretty fucked up visions. They can be pretty scary.
Im going to start to try and control my dreams seen as i seem to have a natural ability to do it, ive never tried to gain lucidity its just happened on its own a couple of times.
Very interesting stuff, the mind is a powerfull thing.

this happens due to normal dreaming anyway. you're using energy rather than recuperating when you dream. this is one way you can become depressed - anxiety causes over-dreaming, resulting in tiredness, resulting in anxiety/depression and so onsonar wrote:one thing i was wondering about is, if you get to the stage where you're having lucid dreams all the time, will that not make you really tired because your mind will be active even when it's meant to be recovering or some shit.
