ISO: Bassnectar hating on Dubstep interview....

Post by dubsleazy » Mon Jul 13, 2009 11:52 pm

I'm looking for a link to that interview with him a couple years ago, where he says that he doesn't like dubstep and that it's "boring and unimaginative"

Thanks for the help.

Well when I saw him earlier this year at Rainbow Serpent, he dropped some Benga, Nero, Rusko (opened with Rusko both sets), among his own tunes..

How is it waste? Guy is requesting a link to an article.

Wouldn't be the first twat to slate it and then hop on the band wagon. Engin-earz are some more twats.

this article DOES exist

i agree, it's somewhat of a lame thread and i feel like it's been brought up before

Lorin's a good dude though, puts on a good show

let him play what he wants

Bruv you don't know what your talking about, Lorin has been an ambassador of bass music in the US since day, I would highly reccomend being knowledgable about someone before you slate them.

The reason why I stated it as a waste thread is because requesting a link to an interview with intent to berate someone for what they said a few years ago is pure WASTE!

i would have to agree... perhaps if the article had come out in the past year it might be more relevant

totally agree, he smashes dubstep, has been a top notch producer for YEARS, and is an awesome guy solely dedicated on the music

the bassnectar bashing-fad is starting to end even within bisco circles...

big ups lorin!

Living in SF back on 06 he was playing dubstep. Here is quote from an article and mind you in SF back in 06 is when Burning man started hearing Dubstep:

So what's with the nail-biting, especially considering that dubstep has been held up by some as dance music's savior from redundancy? The BBC, after all, has described the scene in its London epicenter as the most vibrant, populist movement to emerge from British clubs in years. And Burners this Labor Day were abuzz over "that weird shit" breakbeat raver-celebs Lorin and Freq Nasty were mixing into their sets. Lorin, who now probably has the largest cult following of any DJ in San Francisco, has been sprinkling dubstep into sets sparingly, but he's also been hitting up local dubstep producer Djunya for anything he's got.

BWAHAHA really leon? Bringing up the relevancy to me looking for a link to show someone who wants to read it? Sorry that he didn't ask me to show it to him when it was an acceptable topic of discussion. Next time if i'm looking for an ARTICLE link, i'll ask you all if the information in it is approved and relevant by you kewl katz :4: !

I'm looking for a link you taints, did I come on here and make another "bassnectar is a cheesy fluffed hack" NO! I Didn't even say one negative thing about him or the article. Just asked for a link.

You kidz bring up how played out bashing on bassnectar is...well so is ten people cupping his balls every time someone mentions his name but doesn't praise him like a god. This was a request to an interview and you guys started with all your he's a cool guy, great producer bullshit. Like you have to defend him EVEN WHEN NO ONE IS TALKING SHIT  If you cant see how you guys acted in this thread than grow up, you look like asses.

wtf is he going about 70 bpm dubstep and 140 bpm dubstep?
it's all 70 bpm and 140 bpm depending on how you want to count the bars
and don't even start with some argument with me about this...you can count the same track either way, no matter what the bpm

example...counting dnb at 180 bpm or 90 bpm...it goes both ways (i mean, one obviously more than other, but you know what i mean)

i dunno...i have no opinion of the guy, but he seems kind of like a ding dong
