what to do...what to do in san diego...should i hop over the border and load up on meds? any requests? going to be there over the next week and then later in december ...dubstepforum crew come through with suggestions

Hit the Wild Animal Park and the Zoo, or Sea World if you want a slightly more plastic experience.

Drive up the coast along old highway 101 from Del Mar, pick a beach, and watch the sun set. (Even to the natives this never gets old, honestly.) An especially scenic route of getting to 101 is if you get off at the Del Mar Heights road exit on I-5, and go west. Nothing but ocean in front of you for miles as you descend the hill. The homes in this area are amazing too, sky's-the-limit budget and architecture.

Go to Balboa Park and take in a museum or several or an IMAX movie.

Get some delicious Mexican food in Old Town or at one of the ubiquitous "-berto's" taco shops. (Roberto's, Filiberto's, Aliberto's, etc.)

If you feel like braving the I-5 north to LA, there's Smog on November 17th and December 6th.

I gotta go with Lil' Boh Peep on her suggestions!

There's a place in Old Town called "El Indio"(India St. off the Washington exit on the 5) that is awesome!They have a tortilla factory inside,so it super fresh and tasty.

There is also a place in Hillcrest(on University around 7th) called "The Golden Dragon" if you want some really trditional,yet upscale Chinese food,and also around there are a couple of good Thai restaurants across the street from one another(A Taste Of Thai being my favourite).Oh...and there is a good record shop on 5th and University called "Off The Record",where I have found many overlooked/out of print gems.And if you go to 10th and University,there is a great coffeehouse called "The Living Room" with excellent coffee and atmosphere that will keep you away from the Starbucks and Jamba Juices that began to litter SD right before I left.

If you do decide to laugh at the amatuer drinkers on Garnet on a weekend,you should probably make a pizza run to Fillippi's Pizza Grotto while you are there!It's the absolute best pizza for...ahem..."the munchies".

I don't know if it's still there(maybe LBP can help me here),but Greyboy(Greyboy All-Stars) used to run a couple of Acid Jazz clubs down there.Most notably being his first,The Green Circle Bar in downtown,just south of the Gaslamp.I used to go in there and see GA-S,B-Side Players,and Karl Denson's Tiny Universe there(man...that was freakin' years ago!).The Gaslamp isn't too bad either.There are some touristy Blues clubs there that are sometimes really mellow on the right evening.And there is also the Museum of Death,which I recommend everyone see.

they have this cool rockclimbing/paintball place, right near the highway. also, some of the best golfing ever is in la jolla. enjoy.

dude, go to the "cabrillo monument"...spectacular view of all of san diego from there. its over by the point loma lighthouse.

balboa park is great. if you're going to be there in december, there is a festival you might wanna catch. great roasted chesnuts!

i probably went to pacific beach the most while living there, it's a fun community and good area to go relax on the sand

if you want to see a bit countryside, head out to el cajon. tons of rolling hills and wide open spaces [not much to do otherwise though, from what i could tell]

one of my favorite things about san diego was the tortas. they're delicious and stacked
