Yup... they prepare for a LOT of eventualities.

When I was working in local government, we had to run a test for an anthrax attack in Weston-Super-Mare.... which, if you're not from the South of England, is a distinctly shitty seaside town... probably one of the least likely places to get attacked in the world... yet they have plans for flu outbreaks, anthrax attacks, chemical weapon attacks... we have stockpiles of vaccines for diseases in this country that haven't been on the news. It's only when people learn the name of a disease (because it starts to infect people) that they start digging all this stuff up.

Agree about not selling them to "enemies"... that does seem shady. This sort of thing should be in the hands of the WHO, not domestic governments...

the cool thing about all this evidence is that it is all provided by a smaller and smaller group of people every day. the news stations, print media, and internet are all run by the same media conglomerates. these outlets effectively shape our entire subconscious and ideas, and if they don't all start humming the same tune at the same time, nobody trusts it to be real.

Considering a few people including Donald Rumsfeld himself have made a killing off of their stocks in flu vaccines, I would say it's at the very least a remote possibility.

I'm not going to get too embroiled in this one, but remember... reason and intuition does NOT equal evidence. The only thing you should require to believe something is evidence. Do you have evidence that this was created by a government? No, you don't... you just have ideas as to why it might have been. I can think of a load of reasons why my housemate would've wanted Michael Jackson dead - doesn't mean he killed him though.

all vaccines are evaluated for various things:

safety
tolerability
immunogenicity (i.e. does it provoke an immune response)
efficacy (i.e. does that immune response actually protect)

so you'll be able to find papers with any one of those as the outcome measurement, in animals and humans, for pretty much any vaccine, experimental or otherwise.

the US knows that rogue governments couldn't engineer vaccines into bioweapons. it just pretends they would, so it can deny them access to medication, putting pressure on them indirectly by endangering their population in the event of a pandemic. not ethical, but also not evidence that vaccines are dangerous.

and jenny mccarthy is one of the few people that can get me worked up into an apoplectic fit of rage. stupid, narrow minded, factually incorrect, and all round despicable.
