Chinese guy with glasses wearing various eye-wrenchingly bright t-shirts (it's the fucking summer whether the weather knows it or not!). Even without the dubstep and gravitational pull of massive subwoofers, I'd guess I'd be fairly easy to spot.

If I don't see anyone else by Saturday night I'll start humping Rats to make it more obvious.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrappplplples!

One more day of proper work, one more day of skive and then GOOOOO. Just had a text from my very favourite Bangfacer (apart from you Rats, of course) to say she's going to meet me at the gate and make sure I've got some space. Blatantly won't find her... you'll find me by the only overflowing toilets on site, I should think.

It's sort of hit me now...... IT'S GLADE THIS WEEKEND! FUCKING GLADE! AND I HAVEN'T BEEN FOR TWO FUCKING YEARS!

Missionface.

So guys, how was it ?

Was it a big dirty muddy slug fest like 2007 (which is one of the reasons I didnt go this year *THE HORROR THE HORROR*) or was it a lovely weekend of sexy music and debauchery?

It was a bit of both, but it was easily survivable... I totally fucked up on footwear... wore wellies on the dry Friday night and then trainers on the wet Saturday, but it didn't get too minging out there... plus everywhere apart from a couple of stages are in tents, so it was easy to get away from showers.

Seemed less busy than '07 (which is the only other I've been to)... always easy to get to the front, even when I turned up halfway through Venetian Snares and saw people on the edge of the tent saying "Oh fuck it, I can't be bothered to fight through that"... once you'd gone about 4 rows in, there was space to jump about like a looney.

Great vibe, great music, great venue... and some nice ninja action going on. Sorry I didn't see you lot much on Saturday... I accidentally got FUCKED with a random girl at Squarepusher and ended up on a 4 hour solo techno oddessey. Carl Craig and Juan Atkins melted my mind in beautiful ways.

Top acts:

Carl Craig
Venetian Snares (played a fucking blinder for once)
Squarepusher
16-Bit
Monster-X (never heard of him before - wooooooah)

16-bit finishing with my My Boy Lollipop was hilarious! Crowd were still all skanking out!

was pretty good, but definitely preferred last year, even though music was better this year
very tired

16 bit, digital mystikz, pinch, raffertie smaaaaashed it
and vapor was the perfect tent, sound and lights wise

Had a great time! Highlights for me were DMZ, 16bit, eleven8 (dubstep + live drums!!!), Monster-X (what a nutter!), Rusko and Milanese. Spent 5 straight hours front middle of Boomtown on Sunday

Most of the rain was on Saturday, dried off pretty quickly so it wasn't a real mudfest. Although I can't say I did much that afternoon as I was proper fucked :7: Recovered in time for 16bit though! We ended up missing Squarepusher coz we overslept and then were too tired to drag ourselves back out due to severe lack of sleep.

Was good fun hanging out with Magma and Rats, nice bumping into a couple other heads along the way too! I think Dubfama's set was probably the most varied set I heard the whole weekend! Can't believe you managed to squeeze all of that into just 30 minutes!

Will post pics if I find any reasonably good ones.

^^^ I saw you skanking away. And yes, good to bump into a ninja while I was there! I can't remember who you said you were. You were painted like a tiger wth a lion hat on :P

16bit was truly brilliant - they've got good stage prescence, fairplay. I headbutted the front guard rail due to some seriously hard skanking when chainsaw calligraphy was dropped (and rewound about 15 times, lol).

Squarepusher. Whoa, that was mental, especially with a head full of acid.
:6: Suddenly, his music made sense to me.

Boomtown on Sunday was quality, and although I was exhausted, I still skanked the night away.

My favourite tent of all, though, was the Bedouin Cafe. Great place for the come-down of all come downs on Sunday morning.

And for me, raving out old-school style to a live Ed DMX set was the perfect end to a great weekend.

(Oh, and the amount of talent there was overwhelming. I think I fell in love with the hula girl who always seemed to be down in the inspiral chill area. :U: )

--------
Edit: Shit, I forgot to mention the Vapor tent, especially on Friday. Was massive, in more ways than one!

Sounds like Rats to me. Representing for the Hard Crew in fancy dress... nice effort!

Worrrrd. I was camped pretty much next door... woke up on Saturday morning to the sounds of Burial - Wounder being played by them and wandered in to have a chill in there. Great little place!

Haha that was Rats. Out to the animal headgear crew!

I think there were 2 inspiral hulagirls? Wandered over there Sunday afternoon, they were playing some dubstep too. Sound was well good.

Yes, there were two hula girls, and they were both mesmerising.

Ez ninjas!

Festival was awesome. Better then last year in terms of longer music and more dubstep, felt the site was a bit cramped tho. Was down the front at pretty much all the dubstep skanking like a twat.

Favourite acts: 16bit, Digital Mystics, Reso, Drums of Death and CAC.

Djs where loving the rewinds this year, swear Benga was constant rewinds and 16 Bit was just jokes, what was the song they played at the end??

I didn't catch up with any ninjas, but I swear I saw you Kamacazee down the front most of Sat/Sunday when dubstep was on, I should have said hi, DOH!

I will post up a few youtube vids of digital mystics sometime ova the next few days (yay)
