opening synths in reason 4???? help!
hi all,
i downloaded a few custom synths: namely redizer and itchy overdose synths package (the one with all the drugs on each synth) but i dont know how to open them in reason?
the only way i can think of doing it is opening a patch but it recognize the file type of the synths (.dll i think)
can anyone help me with this seemingly basic task? cheers!

You can make tunes in Reason on it's own, it's perfectly capable of producing quality stuff, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. See YouTube and computer music magazine for tutorials if you need to learn the basics and then some, also the propellerheads website.
Reason can be routed into other programmes or daws(digital audio workstations) as mentioned above but Reason can't host other programmes and plug ins.

Reason is a self contained program, you can't use any 3rd party plugins in reason, what you get is what you get.
If you are really insistent on using reason and vsts you will need to rewire reason to a host which supports vsts (e.g. cubase, logic, etc) which is kindof like using reason as a plugin along with the other plugins.
My appologies if I've got this wrong but judging by your post you're quite new to this in which case don't worry about getting other plugins to run, if you're playing with reason get to know it and find out what the different types of modules do and how you use them. A lot can be done with reason it's a good program. Alternatively if you've not actually started learning reason yet and you're interesting is other vsts maybe look at the alternatives but essentially you need to pick a tool and learn to use it properly. Just my 2p
