I am diggin the 702's. I really would like to find someone with 600/650's that would like to swap em for a week or so. I am so curious about what they are like and how they compare. I have read so much on it but in the end you gotta let your ears decide.

BTW I have read a lot where folks don't think the 650's are an upgrade on the 600's. I would maybe give those a deeper look.

If you get the 600s then upgrade the cable! Worst thing about them by a mile.

I recently got the Grado 225s i believe? 200 bucks man they are awesome!! very smooth and complete even balance between mids highs and lows. They present what you are listening to completely as-is; no added gain boots just perfect sound quality in all frequency ranges. I really recommend them I did a lot of research too before I purchased. My mixdowns are sounding VERY great

I checked out my buddy's Grado's the other day. They def were not a higher end model but they sounded great I must admit. They sounded more like I was listening to speakers than anything else I have heard. They were nice and light and comfortable too. Not really sure how they would translate to production but they seemed like a nice pair of can for pure listening.

do you know what model he had? Grado is really well known in the production industry they have like 2 grand head phones with mahogany chambers haha plus they are all american made which was a big plus for me

Just got these Beyerdynamic DT880's, i ordered the Pro's but they sent me the non-Pro's but managed to get semi refund

... very accurate picture from the hit off, although alittle bright. a little tweaking on the eq can turn that down, as for bass, seems to have plenty of scope. not overwhelming. although i havent warn them in yet so i guess we'll have to see, that might change. i got them with the discount for £162 but they normally go for £200 ($330, €230)

I have Grado SR80's, one of the lower end model (I believe around $80ish) and I love them for production. Very even and natural sounding. They are extremely comfortable and I love using them for producing.

akg k240 are a good bet for a cheaper pair of cans but i dont know if they're going to be your idea of cheap or not

I have these too...but i find that they arent very loud i plug them directly into my sound interface (edirol) and i have to wack it up to max before i can vibe on a track surely this cant be right?

Other than that they are top drawer!!

the top of what i would call cheap

are there different cans for mixing, producing and listenin to music [i.e. difference btween monitors n hifi's]???

any good headphones round bout £50?

i have been producing at home with a pair of numark m20 monitors, and realised that when i play live my bass sounds a bit daft...

basically i dont have much money right now, but obviously need to get the levels right in my tunes.
as decent headphones cost less than decent monitors, would i be able to gauge the subbass with headphones?
or do i need decent monitors and a subwoofer?

Hey guys, hoping you can help me

I'm looking to buy some headphones that will play Dubstep nicely from my Ipod, like for just on the street or whatever...
At the same time I'm wanting to get into producing when I get back to Uni this september.
Soooo basically I need a pair of headphones that I can use for production but will still be good for when I gotta nip to the local shop for a loaf of bread and a can of beans!
Budget will be £100-ish give or take £20

Any ideas? (P.S. skullcandy can suck my balls)

I have kids and make most of my stuff late at night so headphones are a must for me .
i've had my beyerdynamic DT250's for about 4 years now and i love them.
I only have cheap EDIROL MA-15D monitors and the phones are much better all round.

Some people are gonna wanna hate, but that's ok...

Sony MDR-V6

Pros
- good frequency response (supposedly 5-30,000 hz)
- good isolation
- broadcast (radio & tv) standard for several decades
- they last for fucking ever

Cons
- a bit tight fitting... physical fatigue can come into play after a few hours
- everyone loves to hate on 'em
- supposedly the faux-plasti-vinyl covering on the cups wears off. it certainly did on my MDR-600's... but my MDR-V6's haven't shown the slightest sign of wear over the past year.

Price
- £45 used
- £80 - 100 new

just how good are the AKG 240s for production and mixdown?

ive just moved house and really need some good cans now

they are about as far as my budget stretches at mo, around £70-80
