Your Early, EARLY beats

Post by 86. » Mon Jul 27, 2009 4:27 pm

I suppose some of the music people post on here falls into that category, but for those who've been at it a bit longer (3-10 years or whatever)...please post some of your early tunes. Even if they're absolute garbage...it would be nice to hear how you started off and have some laughs, y'know?

I'm not at home so I can't right now....but there may be something floating around the internet I can throw up.

will get on this later

sometimes I go back to some of my old efforts if I'm havin a puf and it just makes me go :o

really get this wolf-boy vibe where I wasn't really sure what I was doing nor had I much of a frame of reference musically so the beats just sound like innocent and naive, truly experimental but without the pretense

i hear ya, some of the more wilder shit I was doing came from the really early period. didn't care, no reservations...would throw all sorts of shit in beats just because I felt like it....none of this "this potentially won't work" business that I do now.

This was the first track I made: http://soundcloud.com/ntny/ntny-sarah-i ... ew-version

and I suppose for a frame of reference, this is my latest: http://soundcloud.com/ntny/wubstep-part-1-preview

I'd say my production skills and style has changed a bit since my first track.

Damn man...even with your first tune you got the technical side of things down.

Unfortunately the very former stuff's long gone.
Here are a few tunes from the oldest I have.
For the record, all these are made out of 4 elements : samples, distortion, delay & filters (never for EQ purpose), all turned into shit with Buzz Tracker.

Edit : phaser spotted on 1 tune... 5 elements... 6 of the tons of hash I used to smoke count (and they should)

Here is pretty much the first tune I ever did (not including eJays and stuff).

Production wise it's shit but I still like the musical ideas in there!

Thanks! Schizophrenic behavior really helped me making them.
Now I'm cured :(

My early, early shit is hidden somewhere in the depths of oblivion. Will try and fish some out though.

Rofl @ OhCrappyDays!!! Strangely enjoyed it =)

Nah honestly. I'd been playing guitar/piano and writing songs for years before I ever started making electronic music. All the synths used in that track are presets with barely and FX processing on them lol.

that flute is fuckin bomb! added flavour with crackling on top.

and usually when I listen to dubstep tunes on these headphones, the sub barely comes in. the ears are mad pulsating right now. at home this should be serious

actually 1:38-2:30 was ill.

I love anything that's got that chill/space vibe to it.

Yeah some people really have a good ear.

Really clean tunes for J-One & 201 as well!

This is definitely the oldest I still have and it's one of my all time favorite. 50 BPM flavor.
