done listening to my vinyl copy right now. I think it sounds fine except Beauty which in fact is distorted and crackly. Not unlistenable but the CD version sounds cleaner (but really not that much, so I do think it's also the song itself that sounds distorted to certain degree). However I would never go as far and say that the record is fucked or sounds like shit. My copy of Zomby's "Rumours & Revolutions" sounds shitty, this is FAR from it

There is no need to get into an argument about whether your copy sounds bad or not.

Its pretty clear than some sound worse than others, christ I'm sure people can post clips of the tracks that sound bad and I'm pretty sure that not everyone who has a copy that sounds terrible needs to change their needles.

Not everyone can afford to spend lots of cash on vinyl and when you have that extra cash and spend it on something that doesn't work right, its very upsetting.

Other than this issue though I can't fault Silkie's excellent music (and album, which I cant stress enough how beautiful the artwork is) and deep medi for releasing this and many other great tracks.

hardly anybody has actually elaborated on what actually is wrong with the record. most people wrote it's dodgy, sounds like crap etc. but not what exactly sounds like crap. The only thing pointed out was that Beauty sounds distorted and it does sound distorted on my copy as well. So after all I don't know if I'm one of the few lucky ones or not because the rest of the album sounds good to me

i don't really know the right production terms to say exactly so my best description would be that the bass is kind of muffled on some tunes - there's none of the boom that, for eg. the Test 12" has - and the mids and drums are kind of 'crunchy' and slightly distorted

i had a mix earlier and dropped Quasar and Sty in and the difference in quality was obvious :(

:( i am scared now and Beauty is one of my favourite songs off the album and everyone is saying it's one of the most fucked.

Just gonna go to a record shop and listen to every copy they have and try and get the best sounding one.

Exactly same as mine, I seriously don't think the tracks are meant to sound like that

From the album ? In all fairness Techno sounds the best, most of them have that style of quality apart from turvy and beauty.

Or did you mean from another track completely for comparison ?

If so here you go - http://www.divshare.com/download/8019740-ea1
