I love these questions they always get me thinking hmmmm!

First Tune:Burial - South london Buroughs or Kode 9 - Kingstown just listening through on boomkat, i was a die hard detroit bod but loved me reggae had a listen and was sucked in.
First Set:fuck knows cause of deapoh doing barefiles could have been the nearest set there which may have been one of the kode9 off groovetech radio shows.
First Night:Dmz in leeds the first one what an experience, the vibe was great so many heads even though there was only what 20 people in that backroom everyone knew everytune and was just dancing no messing last time i went it was nearly full!
First Puchase:Burial and kode 9 soon followed by everything i could lay my hands on

Skream, Benga, and Distance

However, it was really the Scuba podcasts that got me locked into searcin the genre out a bit more

the rephlex tour cooincided with my spring break so I saw the entire crew again in SF the next night! I think the basslines invaded my system that weekend and have never left. :)

First Mix:
a Grimelock & Marcellus Wallace(?) radio set possibly from Gutterbreaks early last year sometime i think?

First Tune:
Mala - Neverland got me HOOKED which i heard on that set but i think i'd already heard things like the Our Sound LP and Vex'd, Virus Syndicate, Search & Destroy...

First Night:
Noir, Blue Mountain in Bristol - was only there for and hour and half as i was playing somewhere else that night so had to dash around Bristol alone, but it was completely inspirational seeing Skream b2b Loefah :o

first set - bun-zero dubstep mix volume 2
first record - mark one - lost gold
first night out - dj geeneus in liège, too bad there was less than 10 people in that room at most times, he definatly deserved much better, i listen to his set from that night regulary

i'm not that heavily into dubstep though, that has to be said.

Good thread. Dubstep is such a revelatory thing to me that the firsts are really important. Having said that, can't remember exactly what I first heard so I'm going to put whatever I first remember having an impact.

1st Set: I had a set with loads of Vexd tunes off their album on it, but it was the Skream Aug 05 mix that really did it for me. Me and my mate used to listen to it and I was amazed by the Almighty Father rmx.
1st Night: Detonate at Rock City/Stealth April of this year, decided I'd see what Kode 9 was like. Two hours later I was convinced. Only about thirty or o people watching, only about ten on the dancefloor at times but Space Ape was treating it like there was a big crowd and Kode 9's selection was deep.
1st tune: Either Anti-War Dub or Ancient Memories Skream rmx, decided to buy them soon after.
1st Purchase: Luke Envoy- Gamma/Honour Kill blarrrp

nah i'm not offended, it's just that it's pretty easy to buy mp3s off various websites (check the info section)

also if the track isn't out or anything, try 1) speaking to the actual producer, maybe ask for a copy / clip thing. you'd be surprised how open a lot of people are with their work. 2) go to the artist's myspace to listen to it
