Features you wish software/hardware had...

Post by karmacazee » Wed Jul 29, 2009 11:28 pm

Speculate/rant here!

I'd love a multiband compressor with a sidechain input. I'm guessing someone has made one, but I haven't heard of one.

Imagine how cool it would be to have the a bassline ducking out the lower frequencies of your track, and all the other possibilities that this would open up!

Also, a MIDI controller like the those Nano key things, but not so shite.

I wish fruity loops would have a button that closes all open windows within fruity loops.

or a few buttons, one that closes all but loads up the sequencer, etc etc.

/cue the person telling me the hot key for this, please.

FL can do this quite easily, add a peak controller to a channel and link it to an EQ band;)
Also split frequencies, add compressors, sidechain;)

:D @ Brisance.

Am working on a multi-band sidechained compressor FX rack in Ableton now!

My wish is coming true.

This could be an inadvertently helpful thread.

Except for VST's in Reason.

It's far too easy to fill the screen with windows in FL. Especially on dual monitors.

I've found this well useful - http://rekkerd.org/fl-studio-keyboard-shortcuts/

I've got one printed out, folded up, and tucked under my keyboard.

Epic, cheers to the person for pointing out F12, and cheers for the poster with the keyboard shortcuts!

I cant see why one would need to put FL shortcuts on a website? Can't you just hit F1 and go to the section about keyboard shortcuts? You guys need to start rtfming, you miss so much otherwise..

this is true, everytime I go through the manual, something new comes up. The FL forums are good for this too...

Two screens would be dope (sigh).

What I don't like is, in FL8, F6 usually brings up the step sequencer, but if you have the file browser selected, it will replace the selected channel in the step sequencer with whatever is selected in the browser. Good if you want to try a whole lot of different sounds for a melody, BAD when your special sound that you found after much searching gets replaced by the "weird" preset :(
