Not really dubstep is it? Can barely hear the backing track because of the rapping

This is a much better version.

i agree with some of the guys that have posted that the styles so far from whats been done dont really compliment each other.

Doesnt mean experimentation with this type of stuff isnt a good idea, but I think they couldnt have approached some US guys with more intelligent lyrical content thats whats been seen so far. There is plenty of really dope us underground rappers out there.

While im on it - doctor octagon on some dubstep infused beats could be very intresting.

May rappers forever stay away from this awesome genre...
Rap is the lowest common denominator of music.

christ if the majors get hold of dubstep they will fuck it all up.

especially with wack cheesy hip-pop crossovers.

Dub Rap Vol.1 is a much better example of rapping over dubstep, don't watch the tired Eastern Jam tune... so overused but it's a very good album as a whole.

Well then you're the lowest common denominator of this universe.

interesting. the best dubstep/us hip hop track ive heard so far is the lil wayne/pharrell one though, by far. that new eve/benga song is just so-so and the snoop one was pretty crappy. still dont totally get how dubstep is taking off more with US rappers than grime, but hey.

anyone know who remixed that wayne/pharrell remix someone posted upthread?

Autotune has very good uses other than vocals, it's just really overused as far as that goes.

ok you guys have NO IDEA. calling lil wayne stuck up is realllll funny because guess what, HE IS..... guess why...... ON PURPOSE.

i feel that threads like this are full of pseudo-informed, self appointed United States rap critics that use a totally incorrect set of musical standards that they then try to apply to a style of music that isnt always concerned with all of that...... its really hard to explain.

you get lyrical artists that dont get much fame, some that do, and you get a LOT of artists that grind out simple tracks that, you critics mentioned above are gonna love this, are designed to:

-boast about how much money they have
-diss another rapper
-boast about how tough you are
-rep your click
-sling a quick club banger and make a quick mill and start this list over again $$$$$$$$$$ (i like money, do you?)

no this isnt ALWAYS true, but all i wanted to say is you guys are pretty much missing the point

im very outnumbered i dont care, i love dubstep, i love southern rap, i love southern rap influenced dubstep

edit:
theres also a lot of really distasteful comments in this thread, that even personally offend me. last time i checked, making fun of someone for they way they talk.. a 3rd grader knows better. making fun of they way a whole people talk..... thats called racism.

i dont even want to talk about how fine a line this comment was

"Man that was truly horrible. whoever invented autotune should get lynched"
