gonna have to do better than that bro. its 2009.. orly owl had her day.
lol

you think i'm just trying to get a rise out of you?

your post was ridiculous..quite a few people including myself really do listen to everything and therefore find it easier to have an objective opinion on all genres....for each individual there is only 2 kinds of music...good & bad...whether it's folk, jazz, grime, afrobeat or uk pap like this anyone will hold a viewpoint that knows their music...you slated any hip-hop as far as i can see that falls into the 'hip-hop' category as it isn't completely vacuous & deluded nonsense like this (this isn't hip-hop that's for sure - i fail to see what elements of hip-hop it contains)

music like this is the problem not the solution to uk music being more credible...i love how the insult of backpack rappers gets thrown around so easily when in the modern age they really are the only people making good music within the genre...compare stuff labeled as hip-hop now with stuff like dead prez, black star, the roots etc and it's a fucking joke

groups like cannibal ox get slated by 'real' hip-hop heads when they are superior in every way save for it's lack of accessibility to morons used to music doing nothing but talking about stuff (material possessions), shooting people, back in the day, which gang you roll with, how you did so so well to get out of the ghetto, fucking etc etc etc

that's what i would have posted first time round but couldnt be arsed hence the o rly...

i could name producers btw within dubstep, breakbeat, electro, d&b & hip-hop that sound better than boomblast..

but hey this is just my opinion right so i'm entitled to it?

i hope i haven't offended you

agree with most of the comments here -

he hasnt had the ouput of some other MC's and he doesnt seem to have different styles - but he's had fair amount of hype

If I want that monotone flow, I'd rather listen to Trim

I allways Trim was quite expressive, I love his quirky way of delivering lyrics.. almost like Bruza in some ways, but loads better of course.

Yeah - Trim has got more range than Giggs for sure - its the deadpan delivery and I think Trim does it better imo,
Giggs seems more wannabe US rap?

Out to Deams and dhaywood.

giggs has done alot for uk rap and he is his own movement, flow is over sick when u can cop what he's doin. he jus hasnt moved it 4ward that much since he started gettin ratings and a lot of the beats he is on have done little for his flow

4 piston, dont wana get into the whole uk hiphop thing cos i still love task force, klash, jehst and some of those guys - but where the F are they now!? thats the answer to the whole uk hiphop debate.

^^^Opinion^^^.

I think you are really wrong about Can Ox. Cold Vein is really gimmicky - I loved it but it wears thin. That whole angular, dark vibe, synthy hip hop got really tired really quickly after Funkcrusher Plus tbh.

You clearly don't see what is good in so-called "materialistic" hip hop, and as the other poster said, that's fine, that's your opinion, no problem. But to say that Can Ox are quantifiably superior act in *every way* to, say, Biggie Smalls or Jay-Z (both almost entirely concerned with all the topics you write off) is a pretty big statement, don't you think?

I'm no gangster rap fan, don't listen to much MC-based music for pleasure on the whole - but I've started to appreciate what Giggs does. I think it was "came up from the dirt like a parsnip" that did it actually. It's such a "WTF?!" line that I started going back and listening to the construction of his rhymes and they are SLICK. They are, like dhaywood says, "so on point you can't see it". It's total stealth rhyming.
