Recommend a mix

Post by youthful_implants » Mon Aug 03, 2009 3:07 am

Hey yo I'm new, and although I think I know what kind of music I like - am sure there is plenty more I dont know.

Am keen to hear mix sets people on here recommend to broaden my listening. More generally I like music thats got depth and progression so anything along those lines would be nice.

So please, if you dont mind - whats good?

For me its more about radio shows than studio mixes really. For depth and progression you reeeally cant go wrong with any of the mixes from DFRNT (joint head of echodub label, think he puts one out a month)

http://dfrnt.alex-c.com/
Any of those mixes will be pure class.

And funnily enough, im a big fan of the tunes I play on my radio show, and thats just the kind of stuff I like...Link to the archive in my sig. The show from 20/06/09 particularly has aloooooot of seriously deep stuff first half, would like to think it would be up your alley :D

oneman live @night slugs NYE set is incredible, although its more garage and grime than dubstep.

Oooh, that's an easy one.

My favorite dubstep mix, and one of my favoritest mixes ever,

mixes together Nintendo 8-Bit music, hip hop vocals and Classic Dubstep,

"Nintendub" by Squincy Jones:

http://www.mashit.com/2008/03/22/dj-mix ... nintendub/

http://www.zshare.net/audio/8429867d0dce76/

A work of creative genius. I use it to turn people on to dubstep all the time.

Quite unfortunately all of my old mixes are offline because I no longer have hosting. Gravious was kind enough to mirror that mix however: http://www.gravious.com/mixes/vaccine-august2006.mp3

February 2007 is better IMO.
