hey cool tune, like all the wierd elements of it like whatever that phasing thing is that sounds like a chime. and whatever the lead istrument is, like the african sounding harp... as u can tell i have no knowlege of instrmnts. but they sound good, add to that "special kinda vibe" or wtv.
im not so sure i like the drums, sound kinda thin and dont really take up much of the mix, jus kinda start n stop with the arrangement.
i think the intro is the best bit tbh, kinda expect it to drop or summat tho
nice percussion when its gets into it, funky n that.

Very good feed back actually, i'm kinda struggling with the progression aspect in this tune.. (I don't really like intro - drop - break - drop structure anymore) as I am trying to stay away from the 4x4/garage tip what I have been battering for the last month or two, I guess the drums need a lot of work hehe, only started it about 2 hours ago anyways early days! Thanks for the feedback.

Feeling the space in this - it kinda reminds me of harrowdown hill, at lot actually..
The strings are lush and the vocal is nice - some more direct drums would be nice to carry a groove they seem a bit to spacey for my liking but hats preference, can't really comment on the mix since its myspace but I am guessing its a start since it is so short, very good start just get some more distinctive aspects in there otherwise it'll just sound like Burial and Thom Yorke merged (unless thats your aim)

Obviously still a lot of work to be done but I'd like to know if I'm on the right track.
Keep in mind I've only ben using logic for 2 days so don't be too harsh lol.

Cheers
i think you need to look more at the bass m8
i mean that synth thing youve got goin on is cool but nt really dubstep.
the sample/s u used r pretty cool, def on the right track with that imo.
def adds a different flav to the track.
maybe you need to rework the drums tho. more swing less kick drums. sounds like some kinda metal or summat. the kick n snare sound fat tho, dubby aswell. get sum hats or perc in there, fill the space up
put it this way m8, it can only get better.
is this ur first production, or jus 1st on logic btw?
It's my first dubstep production and first on logic. I've done other stuff on fl studio but that was all electo kinda stuff.
Yeah I was unsure on the synth but now I know lol cheers mate
Oh, and what do you mean by more swing on the drums?

here's a tune I've been struggling with for the past two weeks or so. I think it's about done now, however. Not mixed that much either yet, please let me know what you think, any suggestions are welcomed!

sup,
Got a track I've been workin on today. I watched 2001 Space Odessey, for the first time last night, and was inspired by it.
So far, i've got down the structure and main elements (no automation yet). Still need to change up the beat and wobblage. Let me kno what you think, please.

I will return feedback to those that want some - and don't be afraid to poke me on soundcloud too, so that i can follow you

That "Wola 2" is very good mate, the whole wonky triplet thing is pulled off well, theres a sample that comes in just after the quarter mark and its far too bassy, if highpassed, so it didnt compress everything down, it would be sweet.
The rise right at the end of the tune would work so well as the main drop too.
Deffo on 320's of that when its finished if possible, Big up.
Def shoot you a 320 when I've got this thing done, still planning out the second act. . . .
Anyway, hope you guys like 2-step

hi guys, i'm a new poster but i've been reading the forum for a while.
i've been messing around on reason for about 3 weeks (although i've made a lot of music in various other genres/different instruments/hardware/computer programs) and this is what i'm most proud of so far, despite it entirely being a work in progress.
i haven't had incredible speakers to listen to it on yet, so i'm assuming there are some mastering issues.
any feedback would be greatly appreciated and i assure i will return the favor.
(the title of the track is bullshit, i haven't named it yet)

fuckin cool track - original and keeps me guessing- only thing i thought was dodgey was the break loop- seemed a bit in the distance and too lo-fi for me- other than that- nice work
Deadly Habit wrote:L5D wrote:I like the pitch changes in the drunken drummer tune, pretty cool.
That frogs tune is coming along nicely too
I'm posting this, first tune I have ever bother to sit down and carry on with so it builds up a whole song structure. It still has a very long way to go, but any feedback would be very much appreciated as it's pretty much my first tune. Will be doing more work on it over the weekend before I have to go back to 6am starts!

thanks i have yet to touch the res control yet either
thankfully i have a rapidshare premium account, but i'd use zshare next time
off the bat i'd add some hats or something dj friendly in intro
i honestly thought that file haddened opened and sound was on the twilight zone ep i was watching
drums could use some coming up in the mix but the bass hits nice
def my choppage vibe though really dig it and the minimalism i'd add some strings in it personally after a bit
keep me updated on this man
