Bar 55 In Camden - LOL

Post by Pistonsbeneath » Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:30 pm

i went there the other night for a friend of my gfs birthday

it's a place to avoid if you're not a sycophant, scenester pendulum & ting tings loving moron..

full of suits as well buying huge rounds so the wait to get served for us was 25 minutes...

just when we were about to get served i shit you not pendulum propane nightmares came on the system and all the whiteboi emo alternative barboys started shocking out to it and waving their arms about in i'm pretty sure a non ironic fashion - i burst out laughing and we left after one drink as we couldn't stand it any longer

i don't know why but so many of my horrifying nights out relate to idiots and pendulum..

anyone got any worse nights out to report?

It's fucking hard to get served in there as it is, but don't they do 2-4-1 on a Monday? And the drinks aren't too bad. Better than that shitty place just off Tottenham Court Road, Potion.

Also, my mate's mate works behind the bar and she is hot and spicy like a nik-nak.

Nik-nak paddy-whack, I'd give the dog a bone.

Before it was Oceana it was Time and Envy. I remember in my naivety in first year of university thought, 'why not' for the freshers ball.... I went not knowing they had Chesney Hawkes as the headline act     I lost part of my soul that day.

I live in Camden and my pub of choice when I was underaged was the Enterprise in chalk farm. It's gone much the same way... yeah it was a little bit shitty, but we used to rent out the top floor and spin rhythm n blues and soul... actually this is round the time it got too 'cool' ;)

It's not bad on a week day when the school holidays aren't on.

Go to the devonshire arms, it's a right laugh - old school punk and goth pub, nothing quite disturbing as seeing a 50 year fat goth bird drinking cider and black
