Carbon Logic has brought together an international panel of Dubstep afficionados.
Their mission is to select a ten track shortlist of the best grassroots dubstep uploaded to carbon logic.

The GRASSROOTS DUBSTEP EP will be compiled from the most original and outstanding carbon logic uploads.
The EP aims to unearth the unsung music worming its way out of the insides of the current international dubstep scene. Posts will be made on Dubstep and music production forums from Russia to Holland to Poland to the USA. This competition has an international focus, we are prepared for, and expect, an influx of content. Get uploading now and be among the first to be heard.....

Carbon Logic is an independent network 100% dedicated to unearthing and promoting today's most exciting and original new music. Artists upload their music, the community listens, scores and comments. Guess November is a few months away so you have time.

We will be creating short podcasts over the coming weeks of tracks that catch our ears as they get uploaded (with the artists permission ofcourse

). The audio will be uploaded to the mixes sections of a number of forums and sent to the judges and Carbon Logic members. There the potential for good exposure for your music here.

how do you submit tracks to the competition on Carbon Logic, I uploaded a track but I do not know how to submit it for the competition

Hi Decree,

When you upload your music enter "Dubstep" into the Genre(s) box. This is all that you have to do. All of the tracks which are stated as being Dubstep when uploaded will be entered into the competition.

1. is the release mp3, vinyl or both?
2. what do you get if your track is pick? (or i want is a t-shirt btw)
3. what charity are you given the money to?

might upload some tunes

Hi 3za,

Thanks for the feedback,

To answer your questions:

1) 10 tracks will be shortlisted by the judges, of which the winning three tracks (picked by Nick Argon) will be selected. The tracks will be released on 12" Vinyl on the Carbon Logic: Grassroots Dubstep EP. We would like to release all 10 tracks in digital format although this is not confirmed yet.

2) If your track is picked as a winner you get a release, simple. This comp is all about giving unsigned producers the opportunity to have their music heard by the likes of Nick, Bun, the 3.5 gang and Twisted and potentially get a release, radio/gig plays etc etc.

3) From the Carbon Logic site:
"The GRASSROOTS DUBSTEP EP will be released on December 1st 2009. All profits will be donated to Love Music Hate Racism."
