There is a good emphasis on the "U".

Dubstep's Nigella Lawson.

Err, in a good way that is.

I was listening to the skream essential mix the other day and people on the train could visibly see my mega cringe at hearing pete tong on the introduction say:

"...and when he played his set at the scenes most innovative night at forward at plastic people, the likes of wiley and roll deep even flashed their lighters up as a sign of respect"

Haha, generally people tend to dislike her style of narration until she says your name...

Damn my girl doesn't say my name like that. :D :o

yeah she comes across a bit cringey sometimes, but this is a female DJ on what i'm guessing is the country's most popular radio station and she's pushing underground artists like Joker and RSD with all of her heart! i don't lock in to her show on the regular or follow what she does with that much attention to detail, but she's 100% soldier, no doubt about it.

everybody rips on her because she's sexy...would you prefer her to be an 18-stone munter with dodgy teeth?

if any of us could chat shit in the way MAH does, we probably wouldn't be doing it on a forum in our spare time; we'd be doing it on radio 1 and making monies out of it.

Was only talking about her sexy voice last night. The things I'd do that voice.

This.

She's a fucking hero, that's all that matters. She's the best DJ that's currently got a show on Radio One and she uses it to push some of the best (and occasionally weirdest) music in the country.

Utter legend.

It just so happens that I would absolutely ruin her, too*

*of course I wouldn't, I can't even bring myself to say hello to her if I walk past her at a clubnight!

i'm not ripping on her because she's sexy at all (although the cover of that compilation on warp she did was just ridiculous), and i agree that she's been a great tool for getting dubstep to where it is today, and pushing the better end of dubstep too i have to say. but her voice is so fucking grating, and you can tell it's not entirely naturally as it's been getting more and more exaggerated as time's gone on

If you call Mary Anne Hobbs a tool again I'm going to get angry.

Best thing on Radio 1 since John Peel.
