not done one for a while so thought id record a little mix if anyones interested,

cool to open peoples ears and all that but surely this is 'other music'? I know recently a lot of people coming on here are from dnb/jungle backgrounds and lots of producers cite it as an influence but dubstep comes much more directly from the garage sound

thats hugely debatable (que recycled 10 page discussion) theres no doubt that from a scene/progression point of view it is completely linked with garage, musically I think alot of it is much more linked with other styles nowadays. In more and more cases it seems that its more marketed as linked with garage as opposed to musically being connected. That may be pretty controversial I dont know, my musical tastes arnt really from a garage background so maybe I can't properly comment, but then all the old garage heads seem to be pretty biased..
