try to look for a used ECLER HAK 310 or 360. They´re much better than pioneer, you have +/-18V DC feed (wich mans e.g. REAL +4dBU output level, no mains adaptor and much more headphone volume even with cheap headphones), easy crossfader exchange, allover excellent quality.

Is HTFR a reliable place to be buying hardware? What with their history of shotting all kinds of dodgy bootlegs i am a bit apprehensive about spending hundreds of pounds with them

Back in the dayz we used to sit cross legged in a circle at DMZ and signal the DJ with joss sticks.

Rane hands down , learn to mix without the filters , you'll be better for it. I've got an Xone 92 sitting here too and I still prefer the Rane anytime.

Im debating getting a 3 channel mixer, although I feel a 4 channel would be better as I want some cdj800s.

What's vestax like for mixers?
I did enjoy the NUO 3 channel eclar mixer...
