Old People Love Dubstep Too!

I work a day job at a local pool, lifeguarding. It's terribly boring, and the only way I stay sane is to blast music all day.

Today I decided to drop some dubstep on the (mostly geriatric) crowd, and was surprised at the results. The same people who normally complain were now complimenting, describing it as "wild", "relaxing", "groovy", and "amazing".

It also caused some little kids to shake it. God damn I love music.

That's interesting I never thought it would appeal to that age group.

Yeah, I was hella surprised. I definitely stuck to the more melodic step to ease 'em into it. Tomorrow = Borgore

You should keep dropping the mellow beats then jus drop in dz's old timers, "....wondered how they'd cope in these times" it's very fitting for the elder audience...

depends how old...if they were into avant jazz or classical stuff like bartok then there is elements to appreciate...

it's not like younguns invented aggressive good music....just everyone hates bad metal

yeah the soundsystem in the pool area is positively worthless. I tried to play some Tipper for 'em but the bass doesn't come through at all. Quite sad really.

I played Caspa & Rusko's Fabriclive set yesterday. One woman described it as "interesting, a little abrasive". Another said "that is some of the worst music I've ever heard".

I suppose some of the older crowd isn't quite trying to "jump up".
