Dubstep 2009? Wheres it going?

Post by mc buffalo » Sat Aug 15, 2009 10:06 pm

THAFE RAVERZ

OK ADMIN DONT LOCK IT DOWN.

I FEEL THAT THE DUBSTEP SEEN IS DIMISHING AND NOT GROWING. AS FAR AS I CAN SEE NO ONE IS NO LONGER PUSHING THE BOUNDRIES, SAME OLD SAME OLD TRIED AND TESTED FORMULAE.

SOMEONE LINK UP A BADMAN AND PROVE ME RONG.

SELECTA!

I think you'll find he said 'NO ONE IS NO LONGER PUSHING THE BOUNDRIES'

And that would be a double negative. Tut tut.

Maybe not to be fair but I think there is still a lot of room to experiment within the boundaries. I have been hearing a lot of stuff lately that is the norm yet isn't so way out there that it's too weird to drop on the massive. You kinda have to search it out for yourself imo. I could point to you certain tracks and will likely just get shot down. You can rip anything apart and say it is same old same old, it is a very subjective thing. I like the way the whole triplet groove and swing thing is becoming common. Not only the old garage and 2-step sounds but applying these types of riddems to heavier tunes. It is not just slowed down dnb anymore.

I'll make you a deal when I get back on production I will help push those boundaries, they're getting too comfortable where they are anyway.

In return there can be no more

-dubstep is boring now
-chainsaw? wtf???
-midrange? wtf??
-is burial relly dubstep?

cus it takes so long for good music to get released. Standard music just gets pushed out and floods the market... take pride in ur rare gem tunes

it's quickly seeming to go dnb route
sub genres and loads of generic shit with solid engineers but no real musical skills imo
least based off my aim folder mainly besides egoless

Finding a good Dubstep tune is like finding a good PS2 game; You gotta sieve through alot of pap to find the quality, but when you find the quality you just keep coming back to it :)
