Ableton and Massive Grrrr

Post by mistayif » Sat Aug 15, 2009 11:02 pm

i'm trying to automate massive lfo rates in ableton and the clever people at native instruments are fully aware that you can't automate the synced rates and plan to do nothing about it, it looks like i have to draw out manual rates of lfo automation.

could anyone please tell me how to work out the decimal values of the synced lfo values? for example, when the sync lfo rate is at 1/2, you would draw in the automation at 0.5 can anyone tell me how to work out the values when sync is at 1/4, 1/8 and so on?

cheers 8)

Alpacas anyone?

I knew what the question was before I opened the thread. This is getting very tiresome now. Why the hell do you want to automate the LFO's in Massive anyway? That is getting so fucking boring imo.

@ hurlingdervish. if you actually read my post, you'll find that i wasn't asking how to wobble but how to work out the decimal values of synced lfo rates

i have upgraded to the newest version (1.1.4) but i still cannot see a way how i can automate the synced lfo rate, i can only automate lfo rate when i adjust the rate manually by rotating the knob

This works on live 8 and massive 1.1.4 just move the lower box in the lfo tab and a pink line shows up - piece of piss.

looks like i'm gonna have a little go on ableton 8 and see if its worth the upgrade.

in live 7, i can automate the sync lfo by tweaking an assigned knob on my controller, the only problem is that the tweaked parameter 'modulator5den' does not appear in the 128 parameters in ableton and so you can't edit it after the automation is recorded. also, if you unnassign the knob from 'modulator5den', the recorded automation automatically disappears

I won't be a tosser

Post by floss_nelson » Wed Aug 19, 2009 3:34 am

Here you are mate. I see you got some tosser-rific answers so far, here is what I found about it hope this helps. It's basically in LFO 5, using digits 4, 8, 16 etc. in the lower box 1 in the top

and this

I'm a noob too though so maybe I'm a big toss a well. peace

done and dusted.

@deadly habit, you should try ableton 8 again but get the newest one which is 8.0.4, no bugs at all and the ability to automate almost every knob and button works like a dream
