Heard a few bits and pieces - Injecao's fuckin dirty as hell (don't know how MIA got away with burning the whole tune for Bucky Done Gun).

Really liked Tati - Mirante as well. Think it was up as a download on some Brazillian site. It's cool to me as it's raw as fuck and doesn't give a damn for modern production values
Hmm....

Injecao is so much better than the M.I.A. track! Though I like that as well. Lyrics are so dirty as well. Don't speak portuguese but from what I can make out it's total dirty innuendos.

First got into this when I heard Piracy Funds Terrorism.

Pretty cool that Diplo has been a strong advocate of this sound, as it really seems to reflect his own musical aesthetic.

Re: the shouting, I kind of like the aggresion, it just keeps the whole thing raw, certainly no worse than some Grime MCs who squawk like demented chipmunks sometimes.

Anyone got the Ladybug EP on Soul Jazz? Nifty track with Deize Tigrana who I think is part of Gaiola das Popozudas on it - love her voice, but I reckon she'd kick my ass with her attitude.

there was quite a buzz over a few baile funk parties during the summer of 2005 here in ny city. it never really caught on very big here, but there is a tiny scene.
