They're looking for the winner to perform live, I can kinda see why they want someone usin vinyl or cd's for this one...

djing with vinyl or cds is not playing live. Playing live indicates live instrumentation or on the fly creation and remixing. I think djs tend to blur the definition of playing live...

I also think that in the same way some programs today blur the definition of DJ-ing

edit: I can tell there's no way I can word this to get out of someone's stupid pedantic rants. So let's just say I completely disagree. If you're mixing live on turntables or cd's, you're creating a mix out of the ether, and that can go wrong, making you look like you just failed in a performance...live in front of other people. The means for how that person fails/succeeds makes no difference.

edit: to add my own dumb pedantic-ness to this reply, The Holy Mountain is about 5000 times better than El Topo

We have received a few mixes now but there's still room for more - remember all entries must be submitted before Oct 1st.

The winner will be playing upstairs at the O2 Academy Oxford - this is not a small side room of a club but a 400 capacity room with stage, turbosound, excellent lighting etc...
