sorry had to shooot over the pond for a last minute interview, but i'm back now

YESSSS LETS DO IT!!!!!! me and shams are going to be in bristol the week before the 5th so will probly drive straight up from there if it's happening up north. we'll drive back down to london - so if anyone needs a lift in one of the directions, there should be room in the clapped out banger.

whats the vote? concept, do you reckon your webs will be up by then?

yea i can host stillll. Been setting up my flathouse a lot over the last few days. But will still need to get internet. Cos my house isn't in full whackmaybe the october date would be better. or if i can get the internet sorted 24th might be alright.

i'm getting totally fucked about by virgin/BT and supposedly the next appointment they can get me is 7th of fucking september when it was supposed to have been sorted on the 18th of august. so it's looking like sheffield is out of the picture

Badger mate, you need an appointment to set up your internet? Do they come round & do it all for you, or is that the actual connection date?

If this gets sorted I will try & get some dough together to bring loads of drink & drugs since I havent hosted one yet, I feel a bit bad...

it's the installation/connection thing. they actually turned up to the original appointment but they came at 8:50 and my lazy arse housemate was still in bed even though i told him to make sure he was up. we've arranged 2 appointments since then and they didn't turn up to those and now we've got this ridiculous fucking wait

Do you have to put a new phoneline in or something or is it just the router etc etc

yeah its the phoneline that needs connecting. virgin make a massive deal of not needing a BT phoneline with them but BT still need to install them and apparently they're utterly shit. i'd go with another ISP but they would still need to use BT so it doesn't seem like there's a lot of point

we're with virgin (may change if that would help as they're not showing themselves in a very good light here) but because BT own the exchanges they have to do the installation/connection of the phonelines

badger have you moved?? because I swear you had internet b4?

Basically my dad said that the only time they will need to do anything in the exachange is if you change provider's...like for example if you were on Virgin before, there is Virgin equipment on the jumpers (eg your line) at the exchange, this then neeeds to be changed for whichever company's equipment you are changing to, however if you arent changing company's, this shoudlnt be a problem, you should be able to just activate, set up & go..
